Pros:
- Proximity to the beach and parking
- Everything you need within walking distance
- 50 more throw pillows on the bed than anyone could ever need, which I like
- Beach umbrella available
- Ice trays full and ready in the freezer
- Check-in/out process was simple
- A/C was cold
- Relatively quiet
- Shower was hot
Cons:
- Called to advise that the lampshade from the lamp beside the bed was missing. Was told it would be replaced; we only stayed three nights and it was not. Not the biggest deal in the world.
- Roaches. I spied three while I was there; naturally, I already bought groceries with the intent to prepare a few simple meals, but after the first sighting, I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. The place smelled heavily of bug killer and there were those useless sonic things plugged into the outlets. If you’re from the South and are used to bugs in the kitchen, there’s a 2-burner electric stove and microwave for use, as well as plates & some silverware, etc. There was a toaster in the photos, but I didn’t find one in the kitchenette.
- Lumpy, hard mattress. Definitely needs replaced. My husband and I both have sore backs driving today.
- A general layer of dust/dirt on the surfaces and cracks and crevices of the place. Needs a deep clean.
- One hanger provided on the clothes rack. My husband and I had more than one item of clothing to hang up...
- Kitchen chairs are very hard, wrought-iron patio furniture. Slap a throw pillow on them before you have a seat, your bum will thank you.
All of that being said, I have definitely stayed in worse places. However, for the money spent, I expected a little better. Next time, we’ll spring for a nicer place.
