Loved the Condo!

Have been to Gulf Shores several times. First time staying in this Condo and it was great. Everything we needed. Bright, beautiful view. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location Furniture needs replacing

the location and views were fantastic. The master bedroom furniture needs replacing as well as the living room and balcony furniture.

Great Location !

Great first experience for my family in Gulf Shores. Area was private on the beach being the last condo before the pier. Only complaint we had was the mattresses were very uncomfortable and made it rough for a good nights rest. Other than that we had a great time.

Fun time at this condo

We enjoyed our stay at the condo. A couple of things could be improved, the A/C did not seem to work to well and could use a coat of paint and finishing touches on interior. The facility is great and being on the beach was the best. Unit was stocked with everything we needed.

Great unit! Gorgeous views of the Gulf.

Spacious unit for us. We had two family’s with s total of 7 people and it was comfortable. Pool area was nice and the maintenance people were friendly. Best of all was the view from the 12th floor and the view from both bedroom windows when we woke up. We will definitely stay again!! Thank you for a wonderful vacation! Chad

I Love Gulf Shores and will be returning, I was not happy with our condo! The bed was so bad, and the couch we couldn't even sit on it....

Location....Location....Location!!!

The location of Royal Palms gets a 5 stars as well as the care of the building. It was very clean and well taken care of. The condo we stayed in (1208) was in overall good condition. The furniture NEEDS (Oh My Goodness!!!!!!!!) replaced in the living room and master bedroom however...so for that and the sluggish drains in both bathrooms, we give the actually unit a 3.5 stars. But all in all...we'd definitely stay at Royal Palms again!!!!

Beautiful view

Although the unit was a bit outdated (needs painting, new couch and chair, new bedding, etc.), the balcony view of the water was top notch. The building itself could use some additional attention in elevator area, pools, etc. Elevators had an odor, and common area trash cans weren’t emptied frequently enough. Overall, the location and view are what drew our attention to this unit, and it did not disappoint.

Unhappy with room

Beds very uncomfortable. Unwelcome visitor after dark. Wouldn’t identify so afraid to open door. Door was a booger to open each time . Otherwise we had a great time just won’t use VRBO next time we go.

Roomy with Amazing Views

I have stayed at Royal Palms before and love the location, a perfect walk to the peir! This unit was very roomy and had an amazing balcony and view. There were also large windows in which the view did not disapppoint. The atmosphere was calm and the employees there were very friendly. There were a few things that could be updated, and we had to make do with the small selection of cookware. My biggest concern though was the cleanliness of the unit, especially the floors. We had to buy slippers so our feet would not get black. If the floors were clean, I would have easily given this unit 4 stars!

On the beach

The Royal Palms complex itself was good. Nice indoor pool with jacuzzi. We did not use the outdoor pool but it looked nice. Not big, though. The condo itself needs ALOT of updating. We got there late at night and had to set the patio furniture back out on the balcony. I understand that there was suppose to be bad weather from the hurricane hitting Louisiana, but it came through on a Sunday/Monday and we was to check in on a Tuesday. Also the couch and chair in living room is in bad shape. You sit on one end of couch and you lean toward the middle. The chair has a big hole on the arm and it looks faded and dirty. Thankfully we was on the 12th floor because there are no blinds on the balcony doors. The seal on the balcony doors was broken, so there was moisture between the glass and that took away from the views of the beach. Bedroom furniture in spare room needs to be replaced and the comforter was old, faded and torn. Same for the master bedroom. Thankfully there was comforters in each of the closets and I put those on the beds. That helped ALOT! I went to look for more pillows and found one in the closet. It was NASTY! Needs to be tossed! When we got to looking at the bed in master bedroom, we noticed it was sagging in a spot. After looking under bed (which had dirt under it) we noticed the box springs was broken. I called the management company the next day and they sent someone out. He had to go get another box spring. The kitchen was small but had pretty much what we needed. The plus was it was right on the beach. We enjoyed sitting out on balcony and looking at the beautiful ocean. We would not stay in this particular condo again, just because of it needing to be updated.

Unit needs the owner to stay here for a month!

This is a mixed review...I'd give it a 2 1/2 stars, if possible. My husband and I stayed for six weeks from the middle of January through February. The location of this condo is excellent and is situated right on the beach next to the entrance to Gulf State Park, close to the fishing pier. Unfortunately, because the seal is broken on the patio door, the gorgeous view is cloudy on one side of the door. The picture provided must have been taken quite a while ago or color enhanced. The furniture in the living area is faded and uncomfortable. We actually had to buy a board to place under the sofa cushions so we wouldn't sink in too far. There was only one small end table provided...we ended up buying a coffee table to use while we stayed there. There is a different kitchen table and chairs now and the new seats are wooden and uncomfortable (no backs to lean on), which is the same as the bar stools at the counter. Bathrooms were acceptable but be aware they only provide two hand towels for the entire unit. Guest queen bed was comfortable but the comforter was faded and worn and not attractive. The master bed is a king bed and the mattress and box spring need to be replaced...you actually have to keep from rolling down one side of the bed. We give five stars to Cindy from the management team overseeing this condo. She couldn't have been any more pleasant and helpful. Upon arrival, the heat was not working in the unit. It was very cold that first night, but Cindy arranged to move us to a different condo in Orange Beach for the remainder of the week. And then the air conditioner didn't work when the temps warmed up, and she got that taken care of the same day. A plus for this condo is the full sized washer and dryer provided; that was very useful and appreciated. We would not reserve this unit again.
