The front desk staff were all wonderful. Sincerely some of the best service I've ever gotten from a hotel. We keep coming back for this reason.
Whoever the maintenance staff is, however, needs replaced.
But the building itself is a disaster.
They've renovated parts of it and the room we had this time looked like it saw a fresh coat of paint, and they called it a day.
We arrived to a massive blower being run for some reason. Front desk didn't know why. We ended up just putting it in the hallway because maintenance never appeared to collect it.
Almost regretted it because without the blower fan going the room smelled like mildew and stale cigarettes.
The toilet didn't flush correctly and it kept running. Loudly. We ended up taking the tank lid off and mostly fixing it ourselves after losing sleep due to the noise.
The shower perpetually ran. Not dripped - a steady trickle. Front desk was notified about that, too, and the very nice man who was working passively implied that the person on duty probably couldn't fix it.
If we decide to stay again I'll be asking specifically for one of the actually renovated rooms, and if anything is a plumbing hassle or the room smells like an ashtray we'll be switching rooms or going elsewhere.
