My extended family of 13 (3 generations) stayed in this house for a week. The location is great, just a 10 minute walk to a lovely mostly-empty bay beach, under 15 minute drive to the ocean beach.
House itself is great especially the kitchen and living spaces, but most of all the incredible backyard. Calling it a backyard doesn’t come close to doing it justice. It is more like a secret paradise, complete with cafe tables, waterfalls, ponds, meditative sitting alcoves, beautiful flora, birds and lovely evening lighting. We spent as much time out there as we could.
However, although the listing says 5 bedrooms, it is truly only 4 bedrooms. There is an additional room with a door that closes and a sofa couch, but it is an office — not a bedroom. The sofa couch is quite uncomfortable. I strongly disagree with calling this a bedroom. The basement is a good space for kids, with several extra couches and a small space for them to play board games or just chill out.
The last thing renters should know is that the owner is on the property every day in the morning, watering plants and taking out trash. This is fine but if you value your privacy and might, for example, want to sit outside for morning coffee in your pajamas, in the otherwise private garden, you will have an unannounced visitor every day. We did not know this beforehand and were a bit taken aback.
Overall we spent a lovely week in this house and had no major issues. Again, the outdoor space is fantastically beautiful and the nicest we have ever come across. It’s worth renting this house just for that!
