The kitchen was well equipped (even a bbq that we used a few times to grill local fish) and there were beach chairs, boogie boards and a surf board for us to use. The place is very comfortable and clean. We loved being so close to Hanalei - both the town and the beach! The host was also great - great communication and helpful tips and reminders. Thank you! 」

「My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon for a whole week. It is such a peaceful environment, and is very close to the beaches. It is in a more rural area of the island, so you can see the stars super clearly at night. Some people complained of the chickens making too much noise, but we didn’t find that to be a problem. The yard is super private, and you’re about 98% out of view of your neighbors. 」

「We had great communications with our hosts before and throughout the visit. Our hosts sent us great information about what to see on the island and where to tour. It was a gold mine of information. The unit is decorated and supplied with everything you need for a wonderful visit. It was super clean, and all the appliances seemed brand new. We especially loved the beach chairs that we used every day. This is a perfect unit for two adults very comfortable, awesome lanai overlooking the shore...

「Great location! Can not beat the view from the lanai. Our host was very responsive and informative. The Islander staff were great. Loved the Sandbar. 「Usually when you see pics of the location it is exaggerated, but this 1 is not! this is right on the beach and the view is stunning! They have everything you need to enjoy the water and the beach including snorkel gear, chairs, towels etc. we had baby and momma chics visit us every morning. Luke was easy to get ahold of and answered his phone when I called.」

"Great value stay in Kauai, especially for families. This is probably the best value hotel we’ve stayed at in Hawaii. It’s not a luxury resort, but it offers everything you need. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well maintained without feeling outdated. The location is a huge plus. It’s close to the airport and within easy walking distance to Coconut Marketplace, where you can find restaurants and a grocery store. Not needing to drive for meals or snacks was extremely convenient. The hotel’s restaurant, Lava Lava Beach Club, is also delicious and worth trying. One of the most memorable moments of our stay was spotting a monk seal resting right on the beach in front of the hotel—such a special and unexpected experience. A couple of small things could be improved: the shower pressure in our room was a bit weak, and the public microwave in the lobby wasn’t very easy to find. Overall, this hotel is a great option for families. Our 2-year-old had a wonderful time here, and we would happily stay again on our next trip to Kauai."
