Great stay!

Beautiful historic home.
This is a lovely old home, beautifully restored. The host was great and the home has everthing you could possibly need. Comfortable beds, kitchen well stocked and nice seating areas. The fireplaces, wood trim and doors are beautiful. Bathrooms have very ornate toilets, sinks and clawfoot tubs. Everything is very clean. It was within walking distance to downtown tourist attractions, shopping and great restaurants. Would highly recommend.

It was a nice quiet house that was nice and comfortable to visit with old friends. Wasn’t a long stay and very cold weekend so we stayed at the house most of the weekend and was very inviting.

Lovely 1900s home near downtown Hannibal. Nice bedrooms and beds. There was a plumbing problem, which was addressed quickly, but will require a future repair. Owner very responsive.

Folk arts festival stay
Met my brother and sister in law and their little dog for a long weekend. We enjoyed the festival and other area sites. The mansion on the hill has a great tour. The house was comfortable and historically interesting and offered a wonderful living room area to gather to talk.

This home has been beautifully restored. We loved all of the original hardwood throughout the home. They have decorated with antique furnishings, decor and even dishes. We felt safe in the home and the neighborhood. It was fun to walk around the area and see other beautiful homes that have been lovingly renovated.

Wonderful little home with everything we needed for a 2 night stay! Easy entry. Appreciated communication from the Property Manager including an explanation about their efforts to rehabilitate some historic homes and things to do in Hannibal. We were especially fond of Sodalis Nature Preserve, La Binnah, and Java Jive!

Anneliesa is a very concientious host. There was an issue with plumbing for a sink and she offered us another location to stay at. We opted to stay in the original rental and she was very good with communicating what was happening with the sink situation. (I.e. Scheduling the plumber). The only suggestions I would make is having some hangers in the bedroom closets and a mirror in the smallest of the three bedrooms. We enjoyed our stay at this location.

Comfortable & Cozy Home in the Middle of Hannibal
We had a wonderful time staying at this house. It was very much as advertised. The neighborhood was quiet and is in the middle of being redone. The house was well-decorated and had a nice atmosphere in keeping with its historic status. We visited with two teens who also enjoyed the home; it reminded us of a place which would be ideal for a small writers' retreat, or even a weekend away to yourself. The furnishings were comfortable, and it was nice to have modern wiring and internet available.

Can not really think of any thing to criticize. Security for those who are not Hannibalians was EXCELLENT. Locks on all doors are very secure. Excellent preservation yet modernized for today's technological environment (Internet access/ gas heating as opposed to the coal heating that existed when I lived there and modern utilities (when I lived there diaphers were still cloth so you can guess about washing machines and stoves and stuff like that). Yet everything else reflected the time of when the house was built (I lived there for 6 years back in the fifties).

It is a beautifully rehabbed craftsman house. The owners did an excellent job refurbishing the original components of the home. They provide guest with all of the comforts of a home away from home. It’s centrally located. We would definitely stay there again.

Perfect for Us
Beautiful historic home convenient to everything in Hannibal. Tastefully restored but with all modern conveniences. Outfitted with everything from towels and sheets to all kitchen utensils and appliances. Gorgeous woodwork with a fantastic woodburning fireplace that we took full advantage of. We stayed here while visiting with our son who is a pilot based in Quincy. Our oldest son came with us at the last minute but was not an issue. Home easily accomodates four adults so it was perfect for us. Old school craftsmanship you just don't see anymore. Reminded me a lot of a house I grew up in. A great place to have a nice visit with two of our sons. Jim & Betsy Misheff

We had a great experience. We are a family of four and had my parents (ages 64 & 70) with us. The house was perfectly accommodative for our needs. We did a lot of just hanging out in the living room with each other, reading aloud and doing puzzles - it was very, very nice. We gushed repeatedly over the lovely simplicity of the home. The owners were terrific and very helpful. All necessary items needed were available in the house. Above and beyond what I have rented in the passed. The home is in a older neighborhood with many restorations in progress. Hopefully these restorations will continue which would enhance the area. If you enjoy older homes this house fits the bill.

Charming historic home
This charming historic home was a great place to stay while visiting Hannibal and very close to the downtown shops and restaurants. The neighborhood needs more restoration but has a lot of potential, and it felt safe to take walks. The house was spacious, clean, and comfortable with a kitchen stocked w dishes and cooking supplies. The pink and green bathroom is so cute, and with a family of 4, we appreciated having an additional half bath. The outdoor spaces are really nice too. Check in was easy and owner provided helpful info about the house and the town. Thanks for being a pet friendly rental--we appreciated being able to bring our chihuahua along for a weekend getaway.

A beautifully restored home
This property was absolutely amazing. I was completely obsessed with it. I loved all of the little old home touches that were still there in the house. The neighborhood is a tad run down but that is one thing I love about what the owners are trying to do here. There are a ton of renovations going on in the neighborhood right now. We did not feel unsafe at all. We went for walks around the neighborhood to look at the homes. There is plenty of outdoor lighting and cameras. Plenty of room and great additions like the keurig and assortment of coffee. The front porch is great for just hanging out. The owner was wonderful about staying in touch. We were so happy to be able to bring our dog along with us as well. I highly recommend this property!

These historic features (such as original woodwork, windows, sinks and toilets, tile, hardware, original kitchen countertop etc.) show their age in the form of patina. Our design approach is to be sensitive to the homes past and embrace its authentic historic features. We do not rip everything out and create a modern-day home inside. We stayed over the Labor Day weekend for the Big River Steampunk Fest and this house was a blessing.
