This place was right on the river and was absolutely stunning in its view. It's a big house and had all the right things that you need for a comfortable stay. The screened in porch was where we hung out most of the time and just watched the river flow by. The bald eagles flying around just added to the ambiance! The communication was spot on and we would definitely come back here again!

Beautiful view and wonderful stay

The property was exactly what we were looking for during our fall weekend gateway. We enjoyed the exceptional view of the Mississippi in the morning. And the hot tub at night. Great and easy communication with the property manager. We would come back again in a heart beat.

Our Stay

The view was fantastic-The place was nice but needed some items fixed like the screens for the screen porch. We couldn't use it because most of them were ripped. Not quite sure why sheets and towels are an extra expense, never ran into that. Also they supplied a grill but no charcoal. For what we paid I think these items should be included. I would want to have to pack them in order to stay there. Also we had no idea on how to use the TV and there were no directions anywhere and the host didn't respond when I asked.

Nice place

We came in for the weekend UTVing around the Harpers Ferry area. This house accommodated our needs for our group. Overlooking the Mississippi River and seeing a few barges go through was neat to see.

Harpers Ferry Cabin

Fantastic views! Plenty of room and anything we needed seemed to be in the cupboards! TV in every room but we didn’t watch them. We sat in the porch 90% of the time, watched the barges, watched the fish jump. Will definitely book it again!

Such a beautiful river front property!

This is a beautiful Mississippi River front cabin with an amazing view! Love the cabin feel of the inside (toilets may need to be upgraded… lots of laughs, but 6’4 husband survived the tiny toilets… lol). The Host was wonderful and very responsive with any and questions asked! Plan on stay again soon

Amazing views but could be cleaner

The property was fine overall but for the price it should come with bed sheets, clean pillow cases, and just be cleaner overall. There was hair in the fridge, cup holders on the chairs were sticky/dirty, remotes had to be cleaned off (bedroom remote didn’t work, dead batteries) & the hot tub was full of leaves and sand.

A gem on the riverbank!

With very few reviews on VRBO and an extremely brief property description offered, I was nervous about committing to this location BUT I shouldn't have worried! It's a cute little house with everything we needed for a girls' weekend! All four queen beds were VERY comfortable (no back pain or tossing & turning at all), water was hot and plentiful (5 of us). One toilet did seem to have a weak flush, but ZERO plumbing issues all weekend. Plenty of parking (4 cars) and we didn't even need to park under the house. The washer was unavailable during our stay but all other major appliances worked perfectly. For a pet friendly property, it was extremely clean and did not smell like dog or river, and no allergies were triggered. We loved the screened patio, it was a wonderful gathering place for day drinking! The fire pit was a lovely last evening for us, there were plenty of comfortable chairs provided, and a few scooters for kids to use on the concrete patio. (There is no fencing along the river side of the patio, as a mom I would have been nervous with young children playing on the river side of the house. But there is room along the quiet road and back of the house for kids to play.) We ended up bringing a lot of food and drink with us, and the fridge held it ALL and the kitchen had plenty of dishes and drinkware. Why don't they make cupboards that deep anymore??? We would definitely book this property again! Thank you for a great stay!

Pictures don’t do it justice

This home/cottage is spacious because the layout was well thought out. It was just two of us but can easily accommodate up to 6 comfortably. The furniture (inside and out) is nice. The screened in porch allows you to sit outside and take in the views without river bugs! Location is perfect for Effigy Mounds and a short drive to MacGregor, Marquette, and Prairie du Chien. The place is equipped with everything you’d expect and more, nice touches. Very welcoming and communication with host was great.
