Sand Dollar Cottage is a wonderful retreat!

We live in Florida and we wanted to spend some time in middle Maine on the coast. This house is in a great location in Harpswell, near Brunswick and Bath. Lovely water view and access to a private pathway to the beach. We really enjoyed the fall foliage and temps.

Sunset Cove retreat

House was very spacious and well equipped. Everything you need, especially for the kitchen. Comfortable beds, wonderful view of the cove and access to the beach is convenient. AC in the bedrooms came in handy during some unusually hot,humid weather. Easy access to Brunswick.

Loved it!

We loved our week at the Sand Dollar! The place was clean, comfortable beds, well appointed kitchen, with beautiful windows to take in the wonderful views! This location is an easy drive to Portland (1 hour), Freeport, Boothbay (45 min), Rockland, Rockport and Camden (1 hour), and we took advantages of it all! Our hosts provided great communication and were very responsive. We would come again!

Harpswell Family Gathering

We have a large family and needed additional housing for our home in Harpswell. This property was a terrific fit. The view of the ocean is fantastic, with a West facing sea view so sunsets are beautiful. The kitchen is updated with professionally serviced linens. A very clean and cared for property with public access to the ocean not far away. A terrific way to explore the Maine coast. We had a minor repair needed and the owners had it fixed by Noon of the same day. Great hosts!

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cottage is nicely furnished, with a well-equipped kitchen. The sunset views are lovely. The drawback is the intense sulphuric/rotten eggs smell from the water taps. The rental agent told us that the smell was very common in this area. We were aware that we needed bottled water for drinking and cooking, but we were distressed by the smell and water quality of the water available for showers and kitchen cleanup. Perhaps an upgrade to the water treatment system could address this issue.

Full kitchen, wine refrigerator, smart tvs, and the most incredible view of the bay. The neighborhood was very quiet, and it was lovely to sit out on the deck and watch the sun go down each night. The property managers were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again anytime!

The view- simply spectacular sunrises and sunsets! Cottage is a beautifully decorated and so comfortable and such a cozy place where you can relax and take in the beauty of coastal Maine. Walks on the beach and watching wildfire were daily highlights… then the seafood options nearby!!! Great hiking trails to explore- house has everything needed to cook at home too. We Can’t wait to return!

Sand Dollar was the perfect getaway! We had a wonderful, relaxing stay and enjoyed our time near the water. We loved walking our dogs every morning on the rocky beach just a few steps away with easy access. Don't miss Erica's Seafood for great lobster rolls and Pammy's ice cream parlor for a sweet treat! My one piece of advice is to use the GPS coordinates and not the actual address if you are using google maps to get there. We ended up on the wrong road and couldn't find the house before we checked in. Otherwise, everything was seamless and the house was comfortable and well appointed.

What a wonderful place to stay! It was perfect. The cleanliness, communication, access to all things, preparation for a warm Maine stay, and more. It was the best choice. The views were spectacular. The location was beautiful. The outside could have been cleaner as well as the dust dog hair and cobwebs . The couch needs to be professionally cleaned. Cabinets are full of stuff left from previous guests very disorganized.

Comfortable and well stocked with everything needed

We enjoyed everything about this home. The only problem was the check in information was incorrect and I ended up having to climb through an unlocked window to get inside. The directions indicated the key was under the mat….not. Once inside we got the door code and all was fine from there on.

The Maine Event

The home was more beautiful than the pictures show. We enjoyed the fantastic views from the wall of windows in the kitchen and living room. The home was so incredibly clean and well stocked for any family to start their vacation the minute they unlocked the door. We enjoyed this house and all it offered.
