  • The Gem Theatre (previously known as Kinema Theatre, Hub Theatre) was built in 1909. In 1924, one of the reels of film got stuck in the projector and caught fire, igniting a full reel in the lower magazine. Only the outer shell of the theater survived the fire. The Kinema was rebuilt "as near fireproof as possible" and reopened in 1924. The Kinema Theatre was renamed the Hub Theatre in 1928. In 1933, the theatre was renovated and renamed it the Gem Theatre. After the advent of television, the theater could not attract large enough crowds to pay film rental fees. The Gem Theatre closed about 1986. The title of the last movie, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, remained on the marquee for ten years as the theater sat idle. Sometime after this the theater was again damaged by fire. Mark Childs, owner of Childs Construction, and his wife Heather, a retired dancer, purchased the Gem Theatre in April 2010, after moving to Panguitch from Henderson, Nevada.  After replacing the building's fire-damaged roof, the Childs rebuilt the Gem Theatre's interior and reopened it on 28 May 2011. #OnTheRoad

Quel établissement. Le cadre est splendide. La propriétaire est charmante, sympa et plein de conseils. Les chambres sont jolies et la vue incroyable. Un petit paradis sur terre. Le seul bémol est la literie avec un lit 2 places un peu petit. Mis à part ça, c’est un pur bonheur et je n’ai qu’une envie, revenir à Hatch, au Riverside Ranch

Loved It!

This was a total gem! We loved our stay and wish we could've stayed longer. We only spent one night here as we were on a longer road trip, but I really liked this place. We were welcomed as soon as we pulled up and were directed to our room. My son and I played basketball, threw the football around, and played foosball. In the evening, we saw some deer roaming around the property. Other people had a bonfire going on and it was just a super chill vibe all around. I would definitely stay here again!

Cons: -thin walls -spring mattress, loud and uncomfortable -tub was super slippery. I actually slipped and fell in the tub causing many large bruises on my whole right side of the body; good thing I'm still young and am recovering well. I did let the staff know next day and suggested installing non-slip stickers or bathmats. Pros: -close to Bryce Canyon -clean -great staff and friendly diner next door that was so gracious to give us ICE after my fall

My family stayed there for one night as we were visiting Bryce National Park. The room was spacious and clean. Melanie and Nicole were most helpful with our questions about the surrounding area and the park. I was truly a peaceful setting.
