"This cabin is an absolute gem! It’s cozy, clean (no musty smells like many old cabins) and very private. My husband, 2 large dogs and I had everything we needed and more. There was plenty of land for the dogs to roam with no neighbors in sight. It was such a relaxing setting with a beautiful window view of the bay to watch the boats sail by right from the couch with a good book or you can sit out by the fire (wood provided) and take in the amazing view from the lounge chairs under the solar lights. It was so well appointed that my husband forgot his book and was able to find a perfect replacement right on the bedroom shelf. It’s a short 10 minute drive to Booth Bay where all the restaurants and cute shops are. The owners were quick to respond and respected our privacy. We would definitely rent this again. Be sure to check out the Botanical Gardens in Booth Bay while in the area. The trolls are neat to see."
A Cozy Retreat on Southport Island

"The porch/view were lovely. The bathroom could use attention. We received a full roll and partial roll of toilet paper. As far as we could tell, that was all there was for us. We bought a roll of toilet paper just in case. That's the first time we had to do that in a vacation rental. Toilet paper rationing? The handle in the shower was tight and difficult to turn. I have little grip strength in my fingers so it was difficult. I think that could be improved. The bathroom sink drained slowly. On the 3rd day I took out the sink stopper. It was black with goo and long hairs. We both have short hair- this was not our hair. I cleaned it out. The cottage is good on its own and does not need the abundance of beachy decorations. Simpler would be better. The bedroom was ample, with space on both sides of the bed. We liked that. The sheets were nothing special, not crisp or remarkable in any way. The notebook doesn't tell you where the garbage. We did figure that out, only to find a garbage bag in there torn apart by a critter. Not our garbage. Not sure if we would book again."

"This lovely home was a joy to rent It is in a quiet, rural setting, but close to all that the Boothbay region has to enjoy. The hosts were very accessible, and thought of literally everything that we needed, with great attention to detail. The home has an ideal layout if you host guests during your vacation, with three bedrooms, each with its own full bathroom. The farmer's porch faces Decker Cove and overlooks a beautifully designed hillside lawn and gardens, illuminated at night by solar lights. We have vacationed in the Midcoast region for many years and this is easily the most comfortable and accurately represented rental we have found."

"Absolutely lovely home and great location! The host was very responsive to communication and the s'mores kit upon arrival was a very sweet touch! My pet felt very welcomed and comfortable as well! One of the best places we have stayed in our many visits to the area!"

"The North Star was the cutest most homey cabin! We enjoyed movie nights and cooking fun dinners while playing card games at the island in the kitchen! We made so many memories and the house was very well kept and cozy! I would 100% stay again! Thank you for letting us stay!"

"We rented this home for a Maine weekend family getaway. We had 6 adults and a baby. The house was beautiful. We all had enough space. We cooked dinner one night and the stove was great. It is on a secluded road, the kids up the street rode their go cart and minibike up and down the street which was okay. Walking down the street was pretty. The porch in back was beautiful. The spruce forest was so peaceful. The beach on the island was close and nice. No issues parking there. Close to Boothbay Harbor. We went to the Botanical Gardens - wonderful!"
