"Haven" may be a bit of a stretch. This is a pretty standard motel - clean and well-maintained. Don't expect daily servicing of your room as that is not a part of the program. I was surprised by how small the TV was. It reminded me of my first computer monitor. Most of the units will have covered parking. Noise from the street is not a problem but there is a good chance you'll hear your neighbours. If you have a room near the metal stairs you will almost certainly hear the foot-traffic. The location is reasonably convenient and we were able to walk to most of the places we wanted to go during a three-day stay. There are certainly plenty of good dining options within walking distance.

I recently endured nearly two weeks at this dreadful motel, and it was by far the worst experience in Australia. The rooms were horribly outdated and filthy, with decor and appliances seemingly stuck in the last century. The room's so-called kitchen was a joke; you could barely make tea, let alone prepare any decent meal. Worse yet, the TV looks like a relic from the previous century - tiny and practically useless. Not that it matters, though, because the motel doesn't even offer Wi-Fi. If you're hoping to stream something to distract from the grim surroundings, think again. To call the room service lacking would be an understatement. They only clean once a week, which is absolutely unacceptable for any traveller, whether staying for a short or long term. Prepare to live in filth if you choose to stay here for more than a day. I also encountered cockroaches, adding a whole new level of discomfort. The motel's location didn't help either; it was extremely noisy due to its proximity to a busy road, making any rest difficult. The staff only added to the misery. The receptionist was incredibly arrogant and unhelpful, treating guests as if they were an inconvenience. Avoid this motel at all costs. It underdelivers in every way possible—comfort, cleanliness, and service are all non-existent while it's unreasonably expensive. Look elsewhere, whether your stay is short or long, because this place is a complete nightmare.

Very dated not worth the money. Blinds on the windows don’t close properly so everyone can see in if they wanted to, Bed very uncomfortable. Furniture all very old. Definitely not worth the money can get a much better hotel in the area for the same money.

Wir hatten oben ein Zimmer mit Blick auf den Pool. Zimmer war sauber, der Teppich ist schaut schon etwas älter aus. Bad war in Ordnung, es gab einen großen Kühlschrank und Mikrowelle. Wir haben das Frühstück auf dem Balkon genossen. Check in war freundlich und er hat versucht für uns noch einen Ausflug zu organisieren. Rezeption nur zwischen 8 und 18h besetzt. Pool war sauber.

The stairs to the upper level were a challenge to us older travellers. The motel was in a handy position to find somewhere for breakfast in the morning and many good options for dinner in the evening.

A bit dated but in a great location

A great location right on the Esplanade with decent walks in both directions. A bit old & tired, a bit rundown, but a comfortable bed and enough room for the 2 of us to spread out.

This property was disgusting. Let’s first begin with the manager. Absolutely terrible. He claimed he had been trying to call me, I am on vacation with no service. He wanted to tell me that check in was no later than 6pm. I arrived at 5:20pm and was aware of the rules, and this is how the trip began. The room was in shambles, rust, grim, etc. no elevator and incredibly slick stairs. At $150 USD a night this was an absolute joke and utterly ridiculous. We stayed for 2 nights. No maid service no fresh towels. I ask for fresh towels, he goes off at me as well as charges me $3 PER TOWEL. Not only that but he called me one of the worst homophobic slurs and screamed in my face calling me a “fa**ot”. The abuse was beyond my comprehension as I have NEVER been treated so poorly and with such disrespect. Please save yourself/partner/family from experiencing such an abusive management staff and a building that should be condemned. As a romantic vacation that was planned for my partner and I, it was absolutely ruined by this manager and hotel. We left and went to the Ramada (5 stars) as we could no longer take the abusive language and hate.
