Countryside Treat

Smaller family owned rustic hotel in wonderful surroundings. Super restaurant with outside seating too. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Friendly welcome.

Quality Stay within an Hour of Dunkirk

This was our first night’s stay after a Ferry crossing on our way to Germany for holiday. The Sparhof is highly recommended and we would definitely use it again. Just one word of warning, the Hotel is very remote, but use and trust SatNav and you will have no bother finding it. We also booked a table in their Restaurant for an evening meal. The Restaurant is very popular with the local clientele and serves excellent food.

Rustic Done Right!

Wonderful location but very remote. I was unlucky enough to stay on an evening when both the restaurant and bar were closed so be careful of that if, like me, you enjoy a glass of wine with your dinner. Nevertheless the wonderful De Bralle was recommended and only a short drive away. Internet was intermittent at best and the room a bit dark but this is such a fabulous place you could pretty much forgive anything! I was lucky enough to get a room upgrade (I'm sure the normal rooms would be good too) and enjoyed a soak in the big wooden tub. Breakfast was very good. I can't wait to get back and try on a night when the restaurant is open. Looks like this is a wonderful spot in the summer. The view of a little pond and local wildlife from my patio doors in the morning was also a treat.

My wife and I stay for just one night, while visiting Ypres. The hotel is out of town in the country, down a narrow lane with fields all around, which adds to its charm. It only has 7 rooms, that have a cottage feel to them. The service we received from the couple who own the hotel was excellent, nothing was too much trouble.. I had one of the best steaks I have ever had in the restaurant and breakfast was fantastic. We will definitely stay there again,
