"Stayed for Halloween weekend without knowing there was going to be a MAJOR Halloween Party at the Hotel, which was a nice surprise until wewanted to get 4 hours of sleep before check out time… Be aware that rooms are not soundproof like advertised. We were on 5th floor on the other side of hotel where party was happening and could hear loud music banging at 7, 8, 9, 10am of Sunday. Telephone in the room was not working to talk to reception, neither they were responding via text messages, so I had to take the very SLOW elevators down to ask for extra check out time. Luckily, they sympathized with lack of sleep, the frustration, and allowed us to stay until 2pm. Really clean rooms, comfortable bedding and pillows, beautiful Industrial decor. The room and bathroom could use some better lighting. And a magnifying mirror would be a special touch for applying make up. Sconce lights by the bed were not functioning. I informed hotel staff on first night but they were not changed. Our toilet clogged on the last day and we could not take showers before we departed, after having partied all Halloween night. There seemed to be lack of communication between hotel staff members about the party happening on Saturday night. They were not on the same page about event details. The restaurant at hotel has some PHENOMENAL food. Kudos to the chef, the menu and the super friendly staff in the restaurant / coffee areas. Good location, but not many conveniences around. Have to catch rides"

"I'm not a stranger to small rooms. I've stayed in a pod hotel in NYC before, so I was prepared for a small space. It took me by surprise how small it actually was though. My daughter and I walked into our bunk bed room with our two small roller bags, and had difficulty closing the door. It was tiny! Because of the size of the bunk bed ladder, it was hard to even both sit on the bottom bunk. It felt like we were playing Tetris for the next 3 days... hard for both of us to exist in the room at the same time unless we were both laying in bed. We used the common space in the lobby to eat a few times, The rooms were very noisy. No matter where your room was, you could hear toilets flushing, the elevator dinging, TVs in surrounding rooms, everything. I bring a white noise machine and ear plugs to travel always, so it wasn't an issue for us, but would be for light sleepers. Thankfully we spent very little time in the rooms since we were busy exploring NYC. The bathrooms were ok. The female washroom had one closed stall and 2 showers. The all gender bathroom had 2 bathroom stalls and 2 showers. There was often a wait for the bathroom (including the one in the lobby area downstairs), but at least it was fairly clean. Showers were nice and warm, good water pressure. The mattresses were what I was most disappointed in. They were super springy. I could literally grab the springs through the cover, which made for an uncomfortable sleep. Overall stay was ok, in a great, safe neighbourhood."
