Lovely property in Hilo

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the studio. It was lovely, clean and spacious, with a well equipped kitchen. Hilo was a good base for exploring Volcano National Park and the east coast of the island. We appreciated being in a quiet neighborhood but having a car was essential. There is a bus stop nearby but the bus only runs once an hour.

Great Stay

We enjoyed our stay at this VROB immensely. The living area was large and had lots of seating and good lighting. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked with everything we needed. We didn't do any cooking but there were lots of pans and pots if you did want to. Everything was awesome and we appreciated being able to stay there.

Well appointed apartment in convenient location

The apartment is spacious and airy and very well stocked with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The location is excellent for visiting all of the major tourist attractions and the hosts are very helpful and friendly.

Wonderful Home Away From Home

Ingrid has thought of everything in creating this lovely apartment. She has everything you need to live very comfortably, and her decor is instantly relaxing and pleasant. We will definitely be coming back the next time we visit Hilo.

Home away from home

We had a great time in Hilo and it started with a wonderful place to stay. The bed was comfortable, everything was clean and our host was very sweet! She was always willing to listen to our stories of the day. We will definitely stay again when in Hilo.

Great location, great host

The location was just what I thought it would be. It was easy to get into Hilo town or head to Volcano National Park. The host is very responsive to any needs we had since she is right there on site. The interior was clean and very comfortable. The lanai is perfectly private.

Great property with beautiful view on the Golf Club . The big, very clean studio full of light with great balcony to enjoy coffee with tropical fruits! The apartment has a nice kitchen, living area, and a king size bed. Ingrid's hospitality is extraordinary.!

We love this place

We’ve booked here three times! It’s a great place to stay. So conveniently located, right in a neighborhood in Hilo by a golf course. The host family is next door and Ingrid is very helpful, communicative, and responsive. The photos on VRBO are accurate and the place is clean. Spacious, Clean, Comfty and Convenient

Ingrid gave us a warm and wonderful welcome to their large studio. The soft Hilo rain and nature sounds were tropical and a sweet departure from our daily life in SoCal. All our conveniences were met from a full fridge, toaster oven, microwave, TV streaming and great hot showers. We didn't use the nice oven and cooktop. The studio is very airy with scenic views including the awesome Mauna Kea. We are so happy to have found this affordable gem in Hilo while visiting friends. Aloha and Mahalo Ingrid, Amon and Keiki!

Cozy & Super Comfortable

Ingrid & Amon Falstrom are the perfect welcoming hosts. The neighborhood apt. has nice, airy 2nd floor views. Wake up each day to chirping birds, lulled to sleep at night by coquí frog & chameleon gecko songs. Well appointed, very well-maintained old school furnishings. Well-stocked linens, towels & amenities. A+ lanai perfect for reading writing, meditating, PT exercises, & mindful quiet time. Apt. has amazing cross-ventilation. Free covered parking space is included! Amon is a building contactor, so the apt. has beautiful floors, area rugs, small, but very clean bathroom, very good ppainting finishes inside & out. Very high quality kitchen utensils, dishes, & utensils. Soaps, kitchen & bath supplies all made conveniently available! This can easily be THE go-to-stay place in Hilo!

Hilo Stay

A travel companion and I spent three nights with Ingrid and Amon in a studio apartment adjacent to their Hilo home. The apartment met our needs perfectly and the lush green setting, adjacent to the local public golf course was a treat. We walked to the clubhouse restaurant for dinner and drinks, very satisfactory. They serve breakfast and lunch also. We used the local transport system to travel to all locations (except on Sunday when some lines do not run), including the Volcano Natl Park. The apartment is quiet, restful, very clean, equipped with everything we needed. Rain, Coqui frogs, far-away roosters and other noises were not an issue, merely adding to the ambience. We made wonderful juice each morning from the tangelos gathered by Ingrid and her son, many thanks! Highly recommend! Thank you Ingrid and Amon, if life allows I will return some day.
