Perfect spot for a family-friendly beach getaway!

This house was wonderful! Close to the beach, quiet, and well-maintained. Lots of space to spread out, with lots of games and activities to do together as well. We’ll definitely be booking this one again!

Great Location

Just steps from the beach and the location means this end has very few people. House has everything you need and although simple, it is clean. Some of the neighboring homes are incredible.

Long weekend getaway

Great property for multiple generational family get away with one level home. Each bedroom had its own bathroom and easy paved walkway to the beach. The beach access was accessible via the back yard or a short walk from the front door. Home featured a large deck and patio with a private pool that very nice. The home is mid century and the owners have kept true to the style. Very nice landscaping and beautiful tree lined street.

Cozy and charming home in great location

My family enjoyed a 3 night stay at this property and were very satisfied. It is a cozy and charming home. The beach access path is directly next to the home. The home is spacious and great setup for kids and pets. The location within Palmetto Dunes is great! Very easy driving or biking access to the General Store, tennis, golf, or Shelter Cove. We go to Hilton Head 1-2x per year and will for sure be looking to stay here again.

Definitely Consider This House!

What a treat! This house and its provisions were such a welcome place of rest and retreat. Well-stocked and well-cleaned, it provided us with more than adequate space and essentials needed. The house is in a private and quiet location, oh, so close (very short walking distance) to a wonderful, clean and uncrowded beach (!) perfect for hanging-out', swimming and of course, sunrise or sunset walking. It's also close to other important places (groceries, stores, etc.) and amenities. The main highway is not too far as well. The private pool is large enough for a large family or an individual to enjoy under a canopy of quintessential South Carolina trees. And best of all, this home welcomes furbabies who are very much part of guest families. So grateful to find a home as private and comfortable as this, providing a welcome haven for pets as well. A few important suggestions, things to consider for the owner and or property manager please: the house could use some renovations, repainting, refreshing. Upon entering the house, the musty, damp, old smell is palpable, revealing the age of the house. Same goes with some of its furniture. They are still comfortable but could use new cushions. It's evident that the house has served and continues to serve its owners and guests well, it deserves some revitalization and restoration. Because the pool is directly under a tree, it could quickly accumulate debris. Interestingly, there are also plenty of ants around the pool area itself. Kindly make sure it is cleaned and vacuumed regularly. Lastly, please consider changing the blinds in the primary bedroom and bathroom doors leading to the outside. They are old and do not cover well to provide the needed privacy.

Great location

The location and house and heated pool are great. The only downside was the amount of workers that would come to the property while we stayed there. The landscape, the pool cleaners, came multiple times during the week while we were outside enjoying the space. A neighbor even knocked on the door to let us know that one of the sprinklers was not working properly.

We loved the short walk to the beach. The house worked great for us. The only thing we thought needed looked into is the toilet in the bedroom with the queen bed needs a new handle assembly as it would stick open and run.

Great Location, good value

Nice pool, a minute walk to the beach, the beach was mostly empty and great sand. The house is a little dated, but functional; the sliding door needs work badly (seems like no wheel left to slide on, it just drags); but the house was clean and had nice furnishings. The yard also needs some tidying up. But a great week was had by all. Thanks!

This property is neat and clean and everything worked properly. We love that it is pet friendly and a short walk to the beach (3rd row house). The outdoor pool space needs the most attention. The pool itself needs updating/cleaning. The water was clear and clean but the pool itself needs some attention and more pool furniture is needed. Overall we are happy with the property and enjoyed our stay.

Great location, convenient beach access

We stayed here from June10-17, 2023. The house itself is nice. The path to the beach is right next to the. house so you see people walking to and from the beach but it is less than a minute walk which is great. The private pool was nice but there are too many trees and the pool gets shaded in the afternoon. The whole back yard needs some trees trimming and taken down. The bedrooms are a great size, we did flip the mattresss in the twin bed room for better comfort. The rental agency Vacasa is basically collecting money but not keeping up with the general maintenance of the home. When we arrived, there was garbage all over the back garbage section that an animal had gotten into and the the two cans were overflowing with the previous guest's garbage. The sliding screen door screen was broken, the handle on the left hot faucet was broken off in one of the bathrooms. The sliding door in the master bedroom didn't lock as someone had broken the handle. lightbulbs needed replacing and the pool skimmer was broken. When I called on the day of arrival (3 times) I was told they would put a ticket in for repairs. On Monday, Frank came over with a new skimmer, lightbulbs and he cleaned up the garbage that had been strew around by the animal but didn't take the overflowing cans. He left us with some more garbage bags and tried to fix the broken door as it didn't lock. He said he would get back to me on the other repairs. I tried texting him again but never heard from him.

This is a nice house right on the beach walk. It was very clean and had plenty of “stuff” for four adults This house doesn’t have a lot of upgrades but it is comfortable. The sliding door some complained about has been replaced. I would consider staying here again

First Time on Hilton Head

Boardwalk was a great house for first time stay on Hilton Head. Lots of room for 6 people and our dog. House proximity to the beach was great. Neighborhood was quiet/private with lots and lots of flora and fauna. Did not use the pool due to outside temps being to low this time of year, but if we were there during warmer months we would have spent lots of time poolside. The issue with the sliding glass door in back was still there. But we worked around it. Would be good to get it fixed though for those that cannot work around it. Suggest more dishes and silverware so that you don't have to run the dishwasher after each meal. All in all great home and great location. Would definitely rent this house again.

Barefoot to the Beach

We had a getaway with our family of six including two kids under age 10 and two grandparents. This house was perfect and exactly what we were looking for to spend time together. We walked barefoot to the beach every day multiple times whether it was for the sunrise, to relax with the convenient beach gear in garage or to bike ride. It was so easy with the beach access walk way in the backyard! Otherwise we enjoyed the spacious pool and deck w grilling out or headed to Coligny just mins away. The house is very well equipped and clean. It felt homey to play cards and enjoy Halloween movies and everyone slept well! The washer/dryer was a bonus!

Grossly overprices and really run down

It's COVID travel, right? So, we can ask whatever price we like. This is the case here. If I could give a minus one star, I would. This property has all the potential, but it is really neglected. Other reviewers mentioned it, but it doesn't make sense until you pay for it and then you see it. Everything is scruffy. The doors are paper thin. The sliding door to the patio didn't work. Yeah, it had a piece of paper attached to it saying that it is coming. But what does it help me when nobody in my family except me had the strength to open it? So, I was a dedicated porter for my family, opening that damn thing. Not enough cutlery and crockery. Broken wine glasses, i.e., out of four available, two were cracked. The general feeling we got is that it was outfitted by someone that didn't care at all about the quality of the stuff, as long as they could tick it off the list. Who cares. Well, at $100/night, we probably wouldn't have, but at $700/night - this was a rip-off. It is still advertised at $235-732. Really? With the damp smell, dirty everything, cockroaches, peeling paint, rusty furniture? The only thing that was good - towels. No complaints there. I would steer clear of this property. We didn't have high expectations, but it managed to disappoint us even further. Vacasa, take it off the market, fix it before you put it back! It is not fair!

House needs work

We visited the week of July 16, 2021. We were supposed to check in at 4:00, we had to call Vacasa at 3:30 as no one had been there yet to clean the house. We were refunded the cleaning fee but considering the size of the home there is no way the cleaners wiped down every surface by 4:25 when they left. The sliding glass door has a faded note that looked like it had been there for months saying it will replaced soon which I highly doubt. The outdoor table everyone posted about has not been replaced just ducked taped around every edge. You can’t enjoy the pool due to the mosquitoes. The house is dated and needs many improvements. We noticed they had just laid sod and pine needles throughout the property maybe they should have used that money for the updates inside the home. The price of rent you pay for this home it is not worth it. We usually visit the Outer Banks in NC and spend $1000 less for a much bigger home with a pool and jacuzzi you can enjoy all day due to COVID rebooking from 2020 we were unable to do that. The beach was the only part of this trip we enjoyed, the sand was white and clean and the waves were like being at a lake.

The house itself is just ok but the overall experience is great. Pool guy came twice during our one week stay. Cant get better beach access without being right on the beach. Would stay again
