Beautiful HH Villa

Perfect villa for a getaway trip to HH. Very clean and decorated and every amenity we needed including a very nice pool. Close to everything including the beach (short drive or exactly a mile walk). Laura was a great host and responded very quickly to our needs.

Excellent!

I would highly recommend staying at this place within Palmetto Dunes resort. I rode the complimentary bikes just a short ride to the beach house. All the amenities are very convenient and the condo itself is well stocked with everything you need.

Perfect vacation villa

My family of 4 had an amazing and restful stay. My teens loved their private loft room with full bath to themselves. Note, there are spiral stairs so can be a little tricky with large luggage. The host is super responsive and answered all questions. She takes pride in her property and has it decorated and furnished beautifully. Thank you for a cozy, restful stay!

Cozy condo in Palmetto Dunes

This condo was so cozy and a perfect anniversary getaway! We rode our bikes to the beach and enjoyed all of palmetto dunes’ bike paths.

Great place

I am hesitant to say how great this place is for fear of becoming too popular and I will not be able to stay here again LOL The location is in my opinion one of the best on Hilton head my wife truly appreciate not only the cleanliness buy how well decorated and well appointed it was Just steps to the pool and short bike ride to middle of PD without the crowds! Laura was very help and a true pleasure to deal with I cannot day enough good things about the villa....

A clean getaway

Condo was in a wonderful area. We rode bikes everywhere, including the beach. There was a general store and restaurants, kayaks and bike rentals, and restaurants all within walking or bike riding distance. The condo itself was spacious and comfortable. We would rent this unit again if coming back to the island.

A winter escape to warmer weather

Laura Hill provides you with a clean, spectacularly decorated delightful escape. You can tell from the moment you enter, time and thought has been put into both colors and decorating. Even on our one rainy day, the indoor surroundings provided such a tropical feel, we were happy to be there. The spiral staircase to the loft second master bedroom would have been perfect for the grands had they been along. Very spacious, well stocked if you care to cook, delightful deck overlooking some golf and quiet. A wonderful week.

Charming!

I agree with other reviewers that the pictures do not do justice to this condo! The unit is beautifully decorated, and the furnishings are very comfortable. The owner is very responsive and extremely helpful with providing useful information about the unit, and the island. The unit being two stories tall really makes it feel much larger than it is. The beautiful HH beaches are less than a mile away - a long, but do-able, walk. Since the unit is close to the entrance to Palmetto Dunes it is very convenient for accessing the rest of the area. Regarding the area, Charleston is two hours north and Savannah is less than an hour south - both are great cities for day trips.

Nice community in Palmetto Dunes

This is our third year staying within the Palmetto Dunes resort. We love Palmetto Dunes and this was a quiet area with a nice pool. The condo is close to Shelter Cove. It is one mile from the beach (approximately 22 minute walk or 7-10 minute bike ride.) The condo was a bit smaller than the picture angles show, however it fit our family of four just fine. The bed and living furniture was comfortable and the covered back balcony was relaxing. We did not realize upon booking or until arriving that this is a part-time residence for the owner, and this is not the type of property that we rent. There were a lot of personal items throughout the condo and we prefer a blank slate when vacationing. This is just a personal preference. During the time of our stay, there were some housekeeping issues that came up and the owner was receptive and quick to respond, which was appreciated.

Several Issues but ended up ok

We didn't actually get to stay in this property so it's difficult to leave an accurate review. After paying in full for our trip, we were contacted by Laura and told that there was a booking mistake and we could no longer stay in the property. It was RBC Heritage that week so prices had doubled. We were offered to stay in another property in a different area so stayed there. It was hectic and disappointing but the condo we stayed in ended up being very nice. Only complaints: there was no toilet paper in the entire condo upon arrival so we had to head directly to the store. Then there was no freon so the unit was 80+ degrees. Laura contacted the owner who set up a service call. When we got back, the guy told us the freon was replaced so it was now 73 degrees, which was great. Laura then acted as though there had been nothing wrong and that we had just complained about nothing, without realizing freon had to be replaced. In fact, for being cancelled on a week before our trip after full payment, having no toilet paper upon arrival and 80+ degrees in the unit, I felt we were very understanding and patient. Overall, Laura made an effort to remedy the problems, which ended up fine in the end.

Warning! Warning! Do not rent from this host!

AWFUL experience! The host Laura, after a back and forth of when we could get in the condo, finally let us know that the condo was ready. As we tried to unlock the door we noticed there were suitcases in the entryway. As we walked in, we realized that the owner Laura was still in the condo and not ready to leave.Her personal items were everywhere and she was still packing up to leave. The towels we were supposed to use for the week were still wet in the washer which she then asked me to finish. There was one bike not two which she then told us that if we fixed the back tire of the second one we could use it. She then told us she would be back later in the weekend to pick up her beer in the refrigerator. The refrigerator and freezer which had her personal half used food and beer in it. Disgusting! The closets were full of her personal belongings which included liquor and prescriptions drugs, YES! Prescription Drugs We took pictures of everything and got the heck out of there. We ended up at a hotel for the night, and found another condo for the week, but this was an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! Ironically, she did return the cleaning fee to us which is funny being that the condo was GROSS. And the fact that she would be coming back in and out of the condo when we are there. REMINDER…. We have never written a negative review in over 10 years of using VRBO, but we felt obligated to SHARE OUR HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE TO HELP OTHERS AVOID THIS HOST AND PROPERTY.

Great Stay

Laura was a pleasure to work with. She contacted us on the day of check in to ask when we'd like to check in and gave us the code. That was so helpful in coordinating our plans. She reached out to give us dining options and information and quick to respond when I had a question. She has bikes available for use and we rode to the beach, just about ten minutes away. She also reached out on the day of check out to go over details. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Beautiful furnishings!

Laura, the owner, takes great pride in her villa, and it shows. The condo is not as spacious as it looks in the pictures, but it worked well for our family. Comfortable furniture and beds.

The perfect villa!

We had a great time staying at Laura's villa! It was spacious yet cozy, well-equipped, and clean. We love the St. Andrews Common area of Palmetto Dunes as it offers all the amenities of Palmetto Dunes, but is super convenient to all that HHI has to offer. We also prefer to stay on the golf course and this villa has a great view of the 14th hole. The living room furniture was comfortable, as were the mattresses and linens. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and bake at the villa. The scratch-made bagels, cinnamon rolls, and focaccia bread turned out wonderful! Laura was a great host and provided some excellent restaurant recommendations on the island! Thank you Laura!

Home away from home

My family of four (2 adults and 2 kids) completely enjoyed our stay in this condo! The complex itself was very well maintained and convenient to the amenities in Palmetto Dunes as well as shopping and dining in Shelter Cove. The villas are very private, we did not see or hear any neighbors. Laura's unit was very comfortable, very clean. The master bath was especially nice! The beds were more comfortable than home and we really appreciated the quality pillows and linens. The deck has a very lovely view of the golf course and lagoon, we enjoyed our morning coffee and afternoon cocktails out there. We have rented many times on VRBO and this was a top experience by far. Laura was great to work with and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. We truly didn't feel like we were staying in a rental. This condo definitely has all the comforts of home! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this unit or to or stay again next time we are in Hilton Head!
