A group of 5 friends stayed to celebrate turning 50. The place was just perfect and the location to anything local just as perfect. Highly recommend staying here.

Perfect location for our stay

This home was big enough for all 8 adults and 2 children. Everyone had their own space but also could come together for dinner. Location was perfect for our travel needs. We would recommend this home to anyone traveling to holland.

Nice pet friendly place

Nice place located within 5-10 minutes of everything. Big back yard for family and pets. Quiet neighborhood. Suited us perfectly for a 2 night stay. Would stay again!

Perfect for a large family

Plenty of sleeping options for multiple families. Nice, quiet neighborhood. Fenced in backyard with fire pit was a huge plus. Sauna and hot tub were great.

Amazing Stay!

We loved our time staying at Colonial Cottage! It was very clean and had so many special amenities that made our stay so special. Loved the well stocked, well organized kitchen and the backyard was beautiful and relaxing. We will definitely use Upscale Lake Shore for our rental needs in the future and have recommended Colonial Cottage to our friends!

Family retreat

We rented this house to bring all of our kids (8 of us total) together in one spot. The house was perfect! We all had plenty of space and lots of fun! We did sunset at Tunnel Park, Holland State Park Beach, We rented jet skis and pontoon from Holland Water Sport, played pickleball, took a bike rides around the beautiful neighborhood. At night we used hot tub, played games and made meals together. Nothing was more than a 15 min drive and the kitchen was fully equipped. The owners were super responsive to our questions and the beds were super comfy. Highly recommend!

Relaxing Michigan vacation

Very comfortable and relaxing. Unfortunately, we had terrible weather but we had a wonderful time just chilling in this cozy house. The neighborhood was wonderful. We had a great bike rides and 2 excellent hikes. We had some terrific meals both in Holland and saugatuck.

Comfortable home in a convenient location. Fenced in yard worked well for dog but would recommend fixing the gate opening space as a dog could escape if not watched. Hot tub was clean and enjoyable. Steps inside house to second floor seem steep and slippery with a loose tread, a carpet runner would be very helpful to prevent a slip and fall. I will still give a 5 star rating as house worked out well for my stay with a pet. I am a local resident and needed an extra space to use for the weekend.

Almost there

Overall we had a nice stay and the home worked well for us. There were plenty of towels, a eel-stocked kitchen, and very comfortable beds. The place was also clean. What was disappointing was the execution on some amenities- the hot tub did not get hot enough, the grill and tools were extremely dirty and did not get very hot, making it difficult to grill our dinner. The windows were very old and in bad shape, the exterior needed a good power washing and there was even rotting wood on the bottom of a column. There were several areas of peeling paint and beat up baseboards, the closet doors in the bedrooms were a joke. Several pans in the kitchen were scratched up beyond functional and safe use. The screened in porch had seen better days. The backyard lawn was also very patchy and covered in ant hills. With all that said, it wasn’t quite the “upscale” home we were expecting and thought we paid (too much) for.

Wedding weekend

The property was clean, cozy and had all that was described. The games and puzzles were a nice touch. We didn't use the outdoor items because it was cold when we stayed but there were extras for outside too. The indoor fireplace was nice. The kitchen was well stocked which was very nice. Truly a Relaxing Stay
