Let me start by saying I should have done more research on this place before I booked it. I didn’t realize the bathroom was separate, that it wasn’t actually in Homer, and that the cabin was in a greenhouse. Make sure you are comfortable with the type of property this is before booking. The cabin itself has nice decorative touches, and there are lovely animals on the property. However there is a very noticeable musty/mildew smell in the cabin. Opening a window didn’t help at all. The smell meant I barely slept. The cabin was also not fully clean-the far side of the bed was filthy. Unfortunately we had to make the decision to leave a day early without a refund. I texted the owner with a polite message letting them know we were leaving early and wondering if they were able to refund any part of our second night. I didn’t even receive a reply, so their customer service is also lacking.

Unique accommodation as a tree House tastefullly decorated and with many Tools To Cook. We would come back any time. You Need To Climb a ladder and a few Status which did Not Brother us at all.

I was ok pictures I seen on website wasn’t even close but that’s ok it was a comphy place to rest your head for the night even though it had a shared restroom it was clean and worked well all in all nice and cozy

Great cost effective stay

Unique bohemian style accomadation. There are shared bathrooms. It is also self check in so remember your cabin! Overall felt clean and comfortable. We loved the cottage in the greenhouse! So cool!

Fraud!!!!

We did not even check in to Cottonwood Cabins! We pulled up about 9:00 pm, still light because of the long days, no cars, lights, and looked abandoned. Cabins looked like homemade structures with ply board. Tried to call, no answer. Tried to get online to send a message and their website was shut down, then went to their Facebook page and it had no activity since last year!!!! Still charged me!!!!!! Tried to work it out with Hotels.com but could not!!!! This is a scam and fraud!!!!! DO NOT RESERVE THIS PLACE!!!!

The description says cabins but it was a mix of cabins, caravans and tents(?). We had a caravan which would have been OK if it had been in better shape. No isolation and windows that didn't close made it very cold in the night.

We paid for 2 beds, only one was made and usable. The loft was full of flies and not able to be slept in. There's no indoor bathroom.

While the host is very kind, there was a huge full trash can at the stairs entering the treehouse. There was dirty laundry on the very top floor in the common area in addition to a bat, ripped cushions and generally very dirty. While it is a tree house, I expected the common area to not be so dirty. In addition to this, the futon was very wobbly and extremely difficult to sleep on without falling off. There were also unleashed pets on the property. The bathroom is across the hall and not in the unit which is not in the description.

Primitive camping at the worse

The description of the property was absolutely incorrect. It stated “inside room” that there was a shower. There was not. We had a “shared” shower. Also did not advise that there was not a bathroom in the room. There was junk all on the property that you had to carefully maneuver while walking to the community shower and our house. We were in town for a fishing trip and my husband was so sick I didn’t have time or energy to fight and find a new place to stay.

The property is Bohemian. My days of Youth Hostels are past. The rooster got us up way too early! I toured the entire facility including the tree house. It is a unique property!

The owner was very pleasant and extremely accommodating. The cabin was quaint and warm. The outhouse and bathrooms were very clean I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Cottonwood Cabins to anyone looking to visit Homer, AK.
