The Basil Patch was wonderful and I can't wait to return! The home is absolutely lovely and cozy. It's clean, decorated so tastefully, and beyond comfortable. The living room has the most comfortable sofa ever (didn't want to leave it!) and a nice TV. The kitchen is well appointed with dishes, cookware, and appliances. The bed was ultra comfy. The bathroom was perfect with an amazing, spacious shower. My favorite part was the screened in porch. I spent most of my time there lounging on the sofa, reading, and staring at the beautiful fall leaves. There is also a large portion of the porch that is not screened in with lots of chairs. The hot tub and fire pit were also quite enjoyable for even more relaxation.
Alex was always quick to respond to my questions and gave great advice about the area. Pay attention to the advice to bring things you need (food, supplies, etc.) as the closest shopping is about 25-30 minutes away. If you plan ahead and bring what you need, it's not even an issue!
The cottage is in the mountains and you take some windy, hilly roads to get there. Just take your time and it's super easy to navigate!
It was fun to take a trip into Hot Springs and visit Big Pillow Brewing, which Alex recommended. Great beer and tacos, and a fun outdoor space with mountain views.
If you want to spend time in quiet, peaceful place that's a bit 'off the grid' and completely surrounded by trees and nature, The Basil Patch is perfect. Exactly what I hoped for when I booked it.
