House of Terror Museum

The House of Terror is a must-see in Budapest. A house has been preserved to showcase the terror of two different regimes. While the subject matter is heavy, when you emerge again and see the light blue sky through those letters, you're reminded of the present moment and things feel right again.

World War II's Nazi base turned Communist base turned museum. So much history in the building. I wonder if it's haunted. #travelbug #budapest #hungary #europe #eu #houseofterror #museum #facade #architecture

We walked here on our last day, as Monday’s are closed. We got to the pay point on entering, and when asking for two adults and saying we only had Euros currency left, we was told, No Euros! No other options, no help in advising where the nearest currency exchange place was, nothing.

2/5 - Disappointing

No English translation on the exhibits, you do need to hire the head sets. Also, there was an awful 20 mins wait for the lift down to the cellars which was in a cramped corridor with no other exit - it was dangerous.

Get off underground at the octogenarian and just walk up and raspy it’s not far, very informative, my husband has been about 8 times.

If your English get the audio headphones, otherwise it's difficult to follow.
