“We were given an upgraded room at check-in, and asked to pay a £10 charge for an extra cleaning charge for our dog. I was expecting this charge as Expedia don't give an option for paying for it when booking online.
We dropped our bags in room and went out for a walk, on return we had a drink in the bar and went into restaurant for our evening meal which we both found uninspiring, especially the desserts.

“The Sun Inn is beautifully quirky. The bar and the garden were vibrant in the early evening and our room was lovely and quiet for the night.
The staff were friendly and efficient.
We enjoyed our stay and would happily return.”

“Lovely room, good tea/coffee making facilities & supply of fresh bottled milk. Great supply of bathroom toiltries. Staff were extremely friendly & the food was delicious, fresh & cooked to order...top marks to the chef !! One of our best stays, would definitely return to this wonderful pub.”

“Winchelsea is a fascinating historic place. The ancient New Inn is a central part of it.
For a night's stay it's fine: our room was comfortable enough and had a good view.
Breakfast and supper offered average pub fare.
What the New Inn really needs is fresh investment: the public areas are tired and e.g. our TV/ remote was worn out.”
