Exactly What We Needed

Located near downtown Indy attractions. Kitchen is spacious and well-equipped. Bed is comfortable.

It was reasonable

We had an issue with gaining entry, but they respond quickly to help us through the problem. The condition of the building was not of the standards that I would have liked, but it was moderately clean and maintained.I was a little surprised to see the clothes dryer venting into the building instead of outside (which is a requirement in Michigan and most other states) as well as some missing door trim in places and somewhat shoddy workmanship on the hardwood floors. Having formerly been a Michigan Residential Builder and currently working for the Michigan State Fire Marshal, and having known someone who died in a fire due to improperly maintained dryer venting, I had my concerns. But while talking to a facilities manager that I met at the convention we were attending (he was originally from the Washington D.C. area, but moved to Indiana about 20 years ago for his job) and mentioning my concerns to him. But he was telling me that the Indiana building codes are surprisingly lax, and only started to approach meeting the national standards a little over a decade ago. So can't really hold that against the managers/owners, if the local government allows such lax standards for residential construction.

Don’t order in

The space was fine for what we needed. The location was great. It was clean and the sleeping arrangements were good. If you don’t plan to order delivery or need to reheat food, it might be fine. It was very obvious they timed the auto messages and the inbox was not monitored the hours they claimed. The listing is also not accurate for having a desk/office or outdoor/balcony area, unless they’re behind the locked back door. We ordered pizza to be delivered the first night. The driver got turned around trying to find the house, so it wasn’t as warm as we hoped. Well there was no microwave, so we tried to use the oven. It would show a temperature to preheat and then click off without starting. We messaged the host with no response. So we used a pan on the stove top. Well there was a lock on the back door and only 2 windows in the kitchen we cracked because there was no vent fan or smoke alarm in the kitchen. Naturally after heating the pizza the living room alarm began to go off. Not a pleasant experience. The next morning I got another automated message asking how things were which would have been nice if they had replied to my previous message. They said they entered a maintenance ticket so I really hope this was just a learning curve and they fix it for the next guests.

It was a fantastic stay. I highly recommend this property if you are visiting Indy to work at Eli Lilly. It is a very short walk from the property to their HQ!
