just a hassle
My husband and I came to Indy for the weekend for supercross. We wouldn’t be able to check in until after midnight, which I let Kevin know. He assured me it would be no problem and if I did encounter issues he would be available. We get to the property (by the way, no unit numbers on the buildings as far as I could see but it was dark so could be wrong), and the code to get into the rental is not working. I call him several times and text to no avail. I then contact VRBO who says they are working on a refund for me but in the meantime we are basically out of luck. We slept in our car for three hours before we got a response from Kevin who let me know there was a key hidden we could use. This was frustrating because given that he knew I was coming late and that he may not be awake it would have been appropriate to tell me “no problem to check in late but if there are issues the key can be found here”. This put a huge X mark on our much needed weekend away having to sleep in our car for several hours. Also, the most basic necessities are not provided - shampoo, conditioner, etc. These are things even the most basic level of hotels/motels provide. Doesn’t need to be anything fancy but even dollar store basics would be appreciated.
