Glasphein was an excellent place to stay in so many ways. Clean, well furnished, great amenities, great location, very comfortable bed, Alan was a very attentive and genuine host who had great communication, tips for local groceries, tips for local restaurants, and brochures for local touring ideas.
Inverness is lovely. Our stay at Alan’s was pleasant and easy for us to find. It had everything we needed. A comfy bed, full kitchen and was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and talking to Alan. He is very knowledgeable about the area. Would stay again!
Beautiful and comfortable property! Very clean and new, the bed was large and comfortable, top notch linens, and our hosts were exceptional. Absolutely would stay here again. Highly recommend!
I stayed three nights and found the place to be quite comfortable and convenient. The host Alan was very helpful and informative. I would happily stay there again.

Location, easy access to all attractions. Well explained & got to meet the owner. Thanks we will be back some day.
An absolute delight to stay at, the house is in a quiet area with loads of wildlife but close enough to centre of Inverness to not be inconvenient, clean property with plenty of amenities not to mention the wonderful hosts that are wonderful to talk to and more helpful that some people's close friends. Highly recommended!
They are so kind. Everything was perfect. Beautiful location just a couple miles out of Inverness but central to all the sights. Very comfortable apartment too. I would highly recommend them!
The place was extremely comfortable and well designed and equipped . Alan was meticulous, hospitable and very helpful. We had some memorable visits to castles and other local attractions. I would most certainly recommend this place for your stay at Inverness.
Alan and Laura are excellent hosts, going above and beyond in communication, cleanliness, helpfulness, right down to a nice bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived. Our stay was everything we had hoped for, as the location was very near Inverness without being in the thick of things. The bed was comfortable, as was the nice hot shower. When we visit Scotland again, we will definitely stay with Alan and Laura again. Thanks so much for your kindness and hospitality!
Alan and Laura were amazing hosts. We are on our honeymoon and this was the perfect place for us to stay midway through our trip. We were met with great hospitality, instant communication, and some extra touches for our honeymoon stay. Any questions or recommendations we were wondering about prior and during our stay was met with instant replies with great recommendations. All the amenities given were great! We would recommend this place to anyone staying in the area.
We stayed two nights at this lovely place. It has everything you need to be comfortable. It was a large space for the two of us. So nice not to be tripping over suitcases and bags. We loved having a location just outside of town to make the driving easier. Alan was so helpful in making plans on what to do.
The property was accurately described when booking. So far, it is the best accommodation we have stayed at in the UK and we highly recommend it. The host was very helpful and friendly, going above and beyond. We loved seeing the deer outside our bedroom window! The place was spotless and the bed was very big and extremely comfortable.
Alan was a wonderful host. The accommodations were excellent!! Alan met us when we arrived, showed us around, and offered suggestions based on our plans for the 2 days in Inverness. The bed was SUPER comfortable. Could not have asked for anything better!!!! Love the location. Just a few minutes from shopping and downtown. Thank you Alan.

Allen was one of the highlights of our trip! He made it such a welcoming time, as this was our first time to Scotland. The place was phenomenal, homey, cute and very clean. They even welcomed us with a bottle of wine.
The taxi service exactly knew where the house was located by the name, and it was a short bus ride to City Center and the Culloden Battlefield. Highly recommend!!!!!
Already before our arrival the host family offered help and guidance. After arriving we got a warm welcome and got many useful information.
The Appartement was spacious, very clean and with a well equipped kitchen.
During our stay we even saw a deer directly from the appartment.
If we come back we would certainly stay here again. Thank you very much for this exceptional stay.
Stayed here several nights in October 2023. This place is the best place we've stayed in on our Scotland travels. It is spacious, has a full kitchen, washer/dryer, comfy king bed, and super quiet. Alan showed us the apartment and provided us attraction brochures and provided dining suggestions. It's not in the hub of Inverness activities but everything is just minutes away by car. This would be our first choice of lodging if we were to travel back to Inverness.
Alan is a wonderful host, who will go the extra mile. He picked us up from the railway statìon, and advised about things to do during our stay. The annex was spotless, cosy and had all the amenities you might need. A bottle of wine, some sweets and crisps welcomed us. Thanks a lot, Alan and Laura.
Our stay with Alan and Laura was excellent. The description was spot on. The kitchen was very well equipped. The living area was very comfortable. The bedroom was large and the bathroom was great. A very spacious shower with plenty of water pressure. Alan gave us great advice on things to see in places to eat. He even gave us hand written step-by-step instructions on the best way to get back to Edinburgh. We look forward to coming back someday
Stayed for 3 nights in early June. Alan was there to welcome us and tell us everything about the property and the area. He and Laura are amazing hosts! Extremely knowledgeable and generous with that knowledge. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and spacious. Serene and quiet but just a short drive to downtown Inverness. Can’t recommend Glasphein Annex enough. If you’re thinking about coming to this part of Scotland, there’s no better place to stay!

Was a little dubious when booking as the review scores were so consistent.
We quickly decided that the previous reviews had been fully justified.
Property is absolutely fabulous, as is the standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
The hosts clearly pay a lot of attention to details. The welcome was warm, comprehensive and reassuring.
We even got an introduction to the resident Roe Doe deer and her two fawns it was amazing to watch the youngsters playing around on the grass being watched by Mum. Really set us up for the day.
Wont hesitate to re-book when we next visit Inverness.
Thank you Alan and Laura
Alan met us on arrival and as he showed us around, had a great chat which made us feel right at home there. The annex feels totally separate from the owners property, even though attached. Great touches were the chilled bottle of wine, chocolate and cheesy crackers, our favourite food groups. Tesco and Aldi a mile down the road for provisions. There were even 2 suitcase luggage racks in the wardrobe! Don't know why there is only ever 1 for 2 people in most places. The one time we wanted to contact Alan while there, he replied straightaway. Great directions and communication too, before arrival. Would definitely recommend Glasphein Annex. Thanks Alan and Laura for a great stay.
My wife and I spent four nights in July 2024 at this property. Having owned and managed properties on VRBO for 20 years, my wife and I always measure other properties against what we managed based on our guest feedback and requests.
Alan was a very friendly and helpful host. The property was clean, had plenty of bath supplies, coffee for our use, plenty of linens, and many dishes available during our stay. The property had plenty of information on restaurants, things to do, and instructions for all the appliances. The washer and dryer were the best we used on our four weeks across Britain.
The property was central to many things in Inverness, but was far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. It was very close to the Culloden Battlefield and Cava Cairns, and was easy to access after we learned how to get the right location.
Alan was so charming and always wanted to make sure we were well taken care of during our stay.
We loved our time in Scotland and Alan was a huge reason why.
Wonderful, spacious annex close enough to town to not be a hassle, but secluded enough to provide peace and calm. Great pub and restaurant just 3 minutes away one direction, Tesco just 5 minutes away in the other direction. Getting to downtown Inverness is just a short jaunt and historical sites are all around you.
This is, by far, the best place we have ever stayed, with the most accommodating and sweet hosts. Everything is in tip top shape and well thought out. In-unit washer/drier, fridge, range, sink... the whole shebang! Ample parking, beautiful property, king bed... we could not have asked or dreamt of more. the accommodations really helped us not have to worry about dealing with "everyday life" while on holiday, because Alan and Laura had already thought of it and made it easy.
Alan was prompt with communication and met with us right away. He let us in and toured the annex with us. He and Laura have put together a couple visitor guides of places they have been and recommend for visitors including restaurants, pubs, activities and attractions... everything they recommended was top notch and truly made our trip so special. Accommodations are private but we felt more like guests and friends than renters. If Alan saw something neat happening around town that he thought we would be interested in, he would send us a quick message letting us know.
This is definitely the place to be!
My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Alan and Laura’s comfy cozy Glasphein Annex. Upon arrival Alan greeted us and took time to explain absolutely everything necessary to have an enjoyable stay. He also had numerous recommendations for food and entertainment.
The annex was well equipped, comfortable, clean and quiet. The bedroom was spacious, with a large comfortable bed with lovely linens and soft pillows. The large bedroom room window looks out into a beautiful green garden lined with trees. The bathroom was stocked with everything necessary for a relaxing shower. The shower had exceptional water pressure with loads of hot water. The kitchen area is well maintained with updated, clean, new appliances. It is stocked with every need in mind. A nice bottle of chilled wine, a jug of milk, coffee and chocolates were there for our arrival. I just can not emphasize how lovely this Annex is. It is located in very quiet surroundings. The outside area exudes peace and tranquility. The living area has a large leather sofa. The host has graciously added lovely warm cuddle blankets for those stay-in tv nights. For entertainment there is a TV in the bedroom as well as the living room and Alan supplies a nice variety of streaming apps to choose from. The proximity to Inverness makes it the ideal location for day trips to surrounding attractions, shopping and sight seeing. I miss it already. Lovely place, lovely hosts. Simply the best! Will return!

We loved our stay! Host was very nice and helpful with suggestions on dining and places to see. The location was a quiet countryside, but only 5-10 mins in to Inverness. Great amenities and clean. Bed was comfortable and towels were so soft!
