Hotel Excelsior is strategically located in Ipoh downtown and many well-regarded eateries are within walking distance. We always stay here just for this reason. Just imagine: directly opposite the hotel is the renowned Oversea Restaurant that offers the finest Cantonese cuisine. The rooms are spacious with a bright and cheery vibe. Seems like the hotel has gonr through recent refurbishment. Cost is also reasonable. A good place to stay at.

Location was good as always. It was my second time staying at this hotel. Staff who did the check-in was friendly and accomodating, gave me a high floor room. Having said so, there are some things that didn't quite meet the basic expectations. The body shampoo container was empty and was not refilled, and the aircond was not cooling although switched it on for the whole day. We did not request for any housekeeping throughout the stay and only requested for additional bottles of drinking water. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, good location and free parking for guest. Hope the rooms can be maintained better.
