Hotel a pocas calles del centro de la plaza de armas y malecon. Muy buena ubicación para quien quiera conocer el centro de la ciudad. Libre de ruido. Personal muy amable y habitaciones muy limpias. Calidad y precio EXCELENTE en comparación a otros hoteles.

It was my third stay at Huayruro and as always, cleanliness and fresh, new like feel of the facility will make me come back for sure. Spacious rooms and batchrooms with showers, nice breakfast area are are all pretty nice and very well maintained. Thanks much guys you are all simply awesome!

Clean. Friendly staff went out of way to make tea following late night arrival. Plenty hot water for shower. Breakfast standard for Peru. Easy walk to plaza. Only inconvenince is road work out front. There is no street at present. Good for quiet sleep though! Overall don't think you'll be disappointed.

If you must stay in Iquitos, Huayruro isn’t horrid

Huayruro has the disadvantage of being in a city that I did not care for at all. Iquitos is a nescesary stop for people going on to Amazon lodges. I stayed for one night before being picked up for a 3-day lodge experience, and couldn’t get out of there fast enough. The room was air conditioned, which was a plus! The breakfast was also nice! The blocks around the hotel are a construction site and it was very difficult to get around. The man at the desk was nice enough, but somewhat pushy. He set me up with a “friend” of his that drives a tuk tuk and I went to the manatee rescue place and through the city. He charged a lot of money and it would’ve been a lot cheaper with any other driver, but the guy at the hotel said he’s safe! I would’ve just used any other driver for a fraction of the price, in hindsight! There are 100’s! Also, when I checked out, the desk guy wanted to take my photo for Facebook. I declined. It wasn’t that nice and I didn’t enjoy the town. Crowded, dirty, it even stunk. I’ve never felt ill in a town on vacation before, but driving through the market was horrible. Skinned animals in piles on tables. Animals I’m not used to seeing on tables for consumption, let alone skinned. They must eat everything! The manatee rescue place said they eat the manatees as well and that’s why they’re almost extinct. That, along with the heat, humidity, and no breeze at all, I literally told the driver to speed up out of the market because I felt ill!

La estancia en Huayruro se ajustó a los que necesitábamos: nos recogieron en el aeropuerto y se encuentra a un paseo breve al bulevar junto al río, las tiendas y los restaurantes y zona de copas de Iquitos. El personal es amable y la habitación lo suficientemente amplia; la ducha, además, es realmente grande. El desayuno es algo pobre, pero se ajusta al precio. La habitación es interior (creo que no dispone de habitaciones exteriores, pero no lo puedo asegurar. El ventilador de techo ayudó a conciliar el sueño (también dispone de A/C). TV grande con numeroso canales. Cama cómoda, aunque algo justa de tamaño. Nosotros repetiríamos.

Very friendly staff

Very friendly staf. Proactive in free transport to airport. Helped us with extra stuff. We could leave our luggage in de hotel during our trip in the jungle. Breakfast was ok. Rooms are basic but ok, no window towards outside.

Great hostal at reasonable price

I've stayed in several places on other visits to Iquitos. I always want a nice inexpensive place not too far from the central plaza, Ari's. Huayruro was excellent for the price, staff were very good and helpful, nice breakfast, good room and bathroom. Bed very comfortable. If you are looking for nice and inexpensive, this is worth a try. I will stay there again on next visit to Iquitos. Also good free transport to and from airport!

Nice hotel, close to downtown

Nice hotel, close to downtown, relatively quiet considering Iquitos. A 10 minute walk to the Plaza de Armas, just 2 blocks from a small park right on the river front. Restaurants and bars nearby, motocarros always available. They pick up and drop off at the airport, which is wonderful. They have a nice big minivan, a patient driver who is willing to wait for straggling passengers. The rooms were very clean, cold and dry. That is amazing considering the climate in Iquitos! I was very impressed, and I have stayed at 3 other hotels in that city before, so in comparison with those this place was outstanding! We had issues with lost luggage, and the hotel staff was so understanding and helpful. They called for the luggage at 11 PM, 1 AM, 6 AM, because the airline was not disclosing information about the whereabouts. Segundo did an excellent job at customer service!
