The location is excellent, the service is superb, the rooms are very well-appointed, and the breakfast is good and delicious. The only drawback is the lack of an elevator. I would like to thank Mrs. Samiha for her warm welcome, hospitality, and attentiveness. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely visit again.

I am so glad to have stayed at the Troya Hotel Balat. It is a charming hotel (and restaurant) with a fascinating history, and Balat is a fascinating neighborhood. The hotel is run by Semiha Huzmeli (who speaks excellent English) and her family. I enjoyed speaking with her in the mornings and I equally enjoyed the greetings from the staff every evening upon my return. The hotel is right on the Golden Horn, and I loved the view of the water. It is close to the bus, tram and ferry stops, so transportation to other parts of the city is very easy. The hotel offers a wonderful breakfast buffet, and the restaurant is quite popular at dinnertime. If you wish to experience authentic Istanbul, as opposed to a corporate-style environment, this is the place for you.

It’s a cute boutique hotel. Facilities are lovely and clean and the room is comfortable. If you stay on the seaside of the hotel you might be disturbed by the traffic noises (not a problem for me). Insulation not perfect if you need absolute quietness.
