"My family of 3 stayed two nights at Hinodeya and it was a wonderful experience all around! This was our first visit to the Izu-Penninsula and we had such a great time. The owner and staff were so kind and accommodating, truly good spirits in this generational owned ryokan. The baths were very relaxing, the entire place was very clean and good spirits all around. "We stayed for one night at this hotel - it was fantastic. One of the best features is that it is up in the hills close to the chairlift site up to the volcanic cone. It is also far away from the very touristy coastal region and nestling in some very expensive privately owned homes, which were very pleasant to drive around. There is nobody staffing the hotel but checking in was a breeze as they communicated very clearly with us by messaging. We turned up and our room was open with the key inside....

Top Ito Hotel Reviews

Hakone Kowakien TEN-YU

10/10 Excellent

"Just everything is more than excellent except I do not recommend dinner for YU-ZEN ( kaiseki)"

Yumoto Fujiya Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"A perfect one night stay for my two-day visit to Hakone. I made the hotel aware of an allergy ahead of breakfast and booking their kaiseki meal, and they made every effort to accommodate me and serve me food catered to my dietary requirements The onsen was a wonderful experience, with lots of helpful guides in English for my first time. A calm, restful and restorative stay"

Shimoda Tokyu Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"The staff were wonderful and so kind and helpful. We got in late after driving from tokyo after a 16 hour flight and we were so happy to walk into the room we had. It was clean, large and comfortable. When we woke up the next morning and opened our curtains we were met with the most gorgeous view of the ocean. The breakfast buffet was huge and had a wide variety of choices. You could enjoy eggs and bacon and pancakes or have a plate of sushi and a bowl of rice. Every breakfast drink you could think of. There was a vending machine on the first floor that had beer and water and juice and laundry facilities as well. Not to mention a spa and onsen. The beach was a short stroll from the back door through a beautiful walkway down the steps. If you find yourself in shimoda this is a wonderful choice for a place to call home."
