Rooms have place for improvement, and some rooms are better than the orhers. We were a big group and booked 5 similar rooms, one out of five had a mold-like odor. Staff were beyond nice, friendly,and helpful. amenities were great. And on top of everything else, the nature was so rich! Foods were good too. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend it.

Bad location, urban condo style, poor amenities and surroundings. Room (Bella Leona apartments) located in a condo, far from the reception and amenities, but more important the condo looks and feels like a high-density suburb in any city of south san jose, nothing like a resort or even a beach destination. Sensation is that we were in a neighborhood of san jose and not a nice one. The entrance was gated with a key that you have to get out of the car each time to go in and out, which could imply the area is not safe enough. Not a beach experience, not a comfortable one.

To be fair, the beaches are beautiful…just don’t expect to be staying close to them. The rooms are a 1.5km (1+ mile) walk from Playa Mantas and 3+ km to Playa Blanca. They have a shuttle which runs about every 30 minutes, but only from 8am-5pm. Be sure to bring your towels with you to Playa Blanca as they won’t give you any, even with the key card you have to use to check them out. You can also rent chairs and an umbrella at Playa Blanca for $19/day. The rooms are nice but small, with strong A/C and reliable WiFi throughout most of the property. The breakfast is decent, but we skipped lunch and dinner at the main restaurant because they charge $28/person for each, and there’s no way we’d eat enough to make that worthwhile. The food at the other restaurants was pretty good. The main reason for the 3 stars is the poor customer service and attitude of the staff in the office, especially at check-in. The main pool and entertainment area is a soulless place, focused on mass tourism and without much attention for a friendly treatment. Many of the amenities of the place are restricted to “partners”, beware of misleading advertising.

The property is accessible through and through, this is great. The restaurants are the only places that seem not to have a plan or reserved table close to the entrance for guests in wheelchairs, walkers or mobility issues.
