Beautiful property in a prime and safe location close to many dining options. I didn't want to leave my beautiful suite. Savon has excellent service overall. Their spa is an experience worth staying at this property for. Amazing hospitality by all the staff we encountered, from the GM to the butler. They even left us treats for our Anniversary celebrations with delicious chocolate-covered strawberries. We just missed their 25th anniversary celebrations the next day, but the preparations looked grand. Highly recommend staying here if you are in the area.

What a beautiful property! Even though it rained the first two days The Saxon was magical! Everywhere you look is a feast for the eye…and the cuisine was an amazing feast as well!

The Saxon is a beautiful property but it was the service which set it apart. Switched on intelligent staff who were really focused on ensuring guests got what they wanted from their stay.

Decline of Saxon Hotel

breakfast service was VERY poor. Orange juice was not fresh - asked for ginger to be added. Did not happen. Cappuccino was cold. Eggs Benedict took 50 minutes to arrive, was cold and not on ciabatta as requested. Waitresses had no idea how to set the table and remove plates before they bring the next course. a real bad experience. was not like this a few years ago.

Bel hôtel pour visiter Joburg

Bel hôtel qui se trouve dans un quartier résidentiel très chic. La chambre est très spacieuse et confortable avec plusieurs rangements, commodités… Le service est impeccable. La restauration est de très grande qualité. Nous sommes passés par l’hôtel pour l’organisation des visites, réservations… tout s’est très bien passé. Service personnalisé. Seul inconvénient: la chambre est sombre à cause de la végétation et il fallait allumer la lumière la journée.

SUPERB EXPERIENCE!

We asked to be picked up at the airport and they were waiting for us when we arrived! The ride and the chauffeur were perfect. We were greated by the manager at our arrival who introduced is to our concierge Lyndsey and she attended to all our needs perfectly. We asked for late checkout the next day since our flight was at 8:00 PM and they let us have the room till 3:00 PM graciously! The room was exceptional, the service and facilities superb. We were there on our last trip to JNB and we will be back on our next one!

amazing evening!

Absolutely superb. We were unfortunately only here one night but I would return to Johannesburg just to stay here again. One of my favorite hotels ever. Rooms were above and beyond, dinner at Qunu was fabulous and breakfast served in room was delightful as well. The property and staff unparalleled.
I will dream about this mushroom appetizer.

South African luxury

This was easily the best place I've stayed all year! The service was top-notch: staff were personable and always a step ahead. There are less than 60 rooms here and you really feel the intimate nature of the service as a result. The facility itself...amazing. The villas are connected by an elevated walkway, and I can't recommend the spa enough! The breakfast buffet each morning was also impressive.
