Just Bad.
This listing and the accompanying photos do not accurately represent the property at all. It is listed as a "retreat" but the house has very little privacy from the neighbors and is only 8' away from Main St. We booked the house for a week-long stay with our four kids but after 20 minutes in the house we knew we needed to find somewhere else to stay. There is a large barn about 2' away from the right side of the house blocking most of the windows on that side. The porches are both in poor condition and the guard railings on the exterior stairs and porches are falling apart/rotten in some areas. I would not have allowed my kids to use the stairs or lean on the railings. Inside the house is not much better. The kitchens is serviceable but the two 2nd floor bathrooms have sloped ceilings in the showers so that an adult cannot stand up. The "lower level" "private" bedroom is a basement which smells strongly of mildew. The basement bedroom windows are at grade and have no screens, so opening them to air the room out invites in any type of bug or pest to come into the room. Again, I would not have allowed my kids to sleep down there. There was a torn and tattered couch in the living room with a blanket hiding the exposed foam. All the furniture has a real Salvation Army vibe. The listing says it has a "smart TV" but it's just an old HD TV with no connectivity or even a cable box. We ended up having to book a hotel room and completely change our plans. We want a refund.
