The perfect place to stay for a short vacation!

It was mine and my family’s first time visiting Wallowa Lake and we had such a wonderful time. The cute A framed cabin was a perfect pick for our family of 3. My husband and I slept in the master bedroom on the main floor and our 3 year old daughter got the whole upstairs with 4 twin beds and a half bath to herself, which she thought was very fun. The stairs to go up are steep but she didn’t have any issues going up or down since we have lots of stairs in our house too. It was small but it had everything we needed. It was cozy and very clean! The beds were comfortable. We didn’t spend that much time hanging out inside since the weather was so nice. We tried to fill our day with outdoor activities, but the cabin was so nice to come back home to at the end of the day. We cooked 1 dinner and 1 breakfast at the cabin and the kitchen was setup perfectly with all of the pans, utensils, cups, plates, bowls, silverware we could ever need. Including a BBQ! The home owner lives next door and was very nice. She introduced herself, gave us some fun popular ideas to do around town and a recommendation for a short hike that our 3 year old daughter would be able to handle. The cabin is walking distance to a campground that has fun trails to walk around that lead you to the lake. It’s also walking distance to mini golf, go carts, ice cream, horse back riding, and a restaurant. We were sad to go home!

A-frame retreat

This was a cute little a-frame. It was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. It is small but it fit my husband and I and our 6 kids just fine. Such a great place for a quiet retreat. Would definitely book this place again.

Location, Location, Location

Great location and a Farrah Fawcett VCR co-staring Sonny Bono and Danny Bonaduce. At checkout when we were stripping the bed, we found a dirty pair of men's underwear in the sheets. Disgusting. That means we had our feet up against the thing the whole time and that the sheets were not changed from the last renters. Gross! What a way to end a vacation, trying the suppress the thought for 5 hours on the drive home.

Very charming and perfect for our 8 person family!

This was the perfect rental for our family! We don’t need much in the way of amenities and the main family room was so comfy. Our group was made up of a 3 yr old through grandparents in their 70s and everyone agreed this was such a fun place to stay. If you need all of the latest and greatest amenities, this may not be for you, but if you’re looking for a cozy and comfortable cottage with a great family room and sense of rustic fun, this is perfect! And SOOO affordable! We lost two cutting boards behind the sink and couldn’t retrieve them. We offered to pay for them and the owner or property manager was very sweet about it and wouldn’t allow us to pay to replace them. Very hospitable and kind management. Easy access to the lake and eagle cap wilderness. So many fun things to do in this area!

Wallowa Lake hiking trip

Property was old but nice. The listing said "coin laundry" which means- drive seven miles!! Very misleading! Otherwise, a great stay and the owners next door are very pleasant people.

Just what we needed.

It was small and compact, but with upstairs sleeping area it could sleep 8 people. I liked that there was an upstairs half bath, so no one had to stumble down stairs at night! It was very comfortable, and had all that we needed.

Cottage at the lake

The spaces upstairs were quite a bit tighter than we expected from the pictures. The staircase is "extremely" steep, as mentioned. Overall, it was a nice place to stay.
