Got a peaceful, easy feeling

From the moment we walked in, we knew we wanted to stay longer and come back often. The vibe here is so relaxing and peaceful. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets and sunrises as well as gazing at the stars at night and exploring the surrounding areas during the day. Clean and comfortable with everything you need to be happy and content. Loved this place so much!!

Absolutely loved everything about it. Only quibble is that the road to the house is a little tricky. Our Prius was okay though. Defiantly get there before dark when arriving for the first time. Serene, modern, clean. We loved it. Would stay again.

Zen Desert Stay

An unassuming exterior expands into a lovely zen-like home away from home inside. The roads to and from are quite dicey in places so keep that in mind wrt the vehicle you have. The beds were very comfy and the general aesthetic and atmosphere was calming and restful. There are some ingenious repurposing of items. The era-appropriate oven was in working order but we used it on a trial and error basis with varied results. There are adequate utensils and supplies for some basic cooking. One or two quirks: the main suite has no electrical plug (that we could find) on one side of the bed. With our various devices and a cpap machine to contend with, this was an issue albeit a small one. Additionally, despite a high-end Fellow kettle and a Vitamix blender being on hand, there was no electric coffee maker. We sourced one secondhand because the 4 cup French press came up a bit short for our “needs”. This is nitpicking but worth mentioning, nonetheless. Just a lovely place to relax and observe. Quiet, clean and well-located for daily hikes in the park. We would stay again.

Peaceful Setting

The photos don't do this little place justice. It really is great. Stylish, understated, and comfortable. The kitchen isn't really designed for cooking; its pretty tight. But, the living room has a terrific view from a great sofa, and the balcony would be perfect in warmer weather. We loved the peace and quite and the perfect outlook over the valley. And the proximity to the Joshua Tree entrance is excellent. We'd certainly enjoy staying here again.Our complaint isn't with the property at all. The four star rating is because we were very frustrated with the identity verification process, which somehow we were not made aware of until less than a week before arrival when it was too late to back out. This verification requirement is buried in the rental agreement, so be forewarned. In all the times we've stayed in vacation rentals (3-4x per year), this is a first. We had to provide cell phone photo verification of both sides of my credit card, both sides of my drivers license, and a selfie. The system would not allow me to cover any info. I found this EXTREMELY invasive and I am not at all comfortable with it, despite whatever claims of security. Every company can have a security breach. Please be aware of this requirement before booking. I'm very sorry to say it may change your mind.

A Starry Dream

The Jensen Cabin was perfect and peaceful. Everything was just as it was described in the information section. The cabin was perfectly located near JT National Park and the town. The house was clean and well stocked and felt safe. Did I mention the tub! now that was a bonus for sure. I would definitely come back and stay at the Jensen Cabin for another dessert getaway.

cancellation at the last min due to double booking

Booked this place a month ago for Christmas trip. On Christmas eve, I received a cancellation email due to double booking. I already received all the check in information and confirmation email too. Our family gathering for the holiday was ruined. No phone call or any other communication of this trouble before sending me the cancellation email at the last minute.

Fabulous!

We loved our winter stay here and hope to return!! Beautiful views, cozy and quiet. The house is wonderfully designed and furnished. Very comfortable beds and luxurious linens and towels. Very clean and well maintained. We liked the sustainable features: solar panels and energy efficient heat pumps (ac/heating). We like to cook and the kitchen had everything we needed. We appreciated the water filter, blender, electric tea pot. It was a little awkward to use the stove top because it was tight in the corner of the kitchen. Also a little difficult to wash dishes with the retro sink faucet without scalding (the water comes out REALLY hot and the faucet didn't easily mix.) We appreciated the books, board games, and Bluetooth speaker. The hammocks and fire pit, and porch were very nice to use for serene outdoor moments. All in all a perfect getaway for our family of 4. Thanks again!

If you're into Joshua Tree Park and desert vibe, doubtful that you will find a more ideal place for amenities, views or location. Super clean, well-stocked, "urban-desert-chic" with all the requisite amenities save for a microwave (Also Note: No TV...THANK GOODNESS!) Beds super comfy, the spots to be after a strenuous day of hiking. Enjoyed our happy hour so much on the patio while gazing at the panoramic views, the passing coyotes (three total) and finally the starry skies. (Yes, Happy Hour got "extended.") Be careful of the stepdown from kitchen to sitting room, however. Divided bathroom situation a little odd but no big deal. Wouldn't hesitate to come back. First-timers, be sure too to secure clear directions on getting there, as that could have been a bit clearer.

Perfect location! We were less than 5 minutes from the park entrance, but still felt a little rustic/off the grid haha! The house could not have been more perfect. We both raved about how well we slept in the fluffy crisp beds. Plenty of fans/AC to keep us cool. We spent both nights on the porch, staring up at the stars. Would absolutely return. Tips- buy a bag of ice. Tap water is funky. And watch your food closely in the oven. It’s a vintage oven and a bit inaccurate! Ha!!

I really liked this place. No! Loved this place!! I have zero things that went wrong. Many things that went right. Want to come back to do more stargazing and enjoying the silence ( coyotes do howl at night 🐺😊) Very close to the National Park. Not many places close by to eat. However, kitchen was fully stocked to prepare any groceries brought. House was clean and I felt safe. I would definitely come back to repeat this experience.

Quaint little house close to Joshua Tree NP

We really appreciated that our questions were answered promptly by the host group prior to our stay in December and the tips/precautions. It was very valuable to know what to expect. We had everything we needed, even when the power went out in the neighborhood one night (we found flashlights everywhere)! This is the perfect jumping-off place to the national park.

Pleasant stay at edge of Joshua Tree!

My wife and I had a great stay at Joshua Tree Highlands. We liked that the space was very peaceful and relaxing, the bed was comfortable and the natural light was nice. The home is a 5-10 minute ride to the Main Street where you can get breakfast/dinner and a 5 minute drive down the road to the West Entrance of the Park! Would stay again for sure.

Exceeded Expectations- which isnt easy!

Wonderful location, gorgeous views, well-equipped and great style. Even the hammocks were clean! Only suggestion is find a great mobile masseuse you can refer!!
