"Near the volcano, which is why we picked it. Reasonable price, near the village and the volcano house. The room was large and fairly clean. The frogs kept us awake, but we got used to them. Very responsive hosts, there is no host at the lodge, but there are plenty of supplies if you run out of towels or coffee, or anything you can usually get from a hotel. The neighborhood seems safe. The store down the road had most anything you need. There’s a laundry at the true value store down the road. "
"Property is more of an Airbnb. It was located in a lush tropical property and check in was a key left in the units door. Good location for visiting Volcanoes park. Good place if you’re mode of travel is simple with minimal amenities. Owners made the stay comfortable. Unfortunately not many restaurants were open on our Monday visit. "
"Beautifully maintained. The frogs were a bit annoying but the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. The outdoor shower and hot bath were amazing . "
Darling, Private Cottage Near Hawaii Volcanoes Nat'l Park
10/10 Excellent
"Great location close to Volcanoes National Park and Volcano village. The cabin is charming and comfortable and tucked into the most beautiful cloud forest. We loved the fireplace in the evenings after a day out hikingClose to Lanakai Brewing, a great spot for beer and pizza. "
"Lehua looked great in the add and was far better in person. We loved our stay-and seriously considered asking if we could stay longer. “LLC” had everything we needed and more-we were able to cook all our meals in a delightfully comfortable setting. Coqui frogs, though invasive, were a lovely treat to fall asleep to at night. We were unbelievably close to Volcanoes NP, for the fountaining lava and close enough to summit Mauna Kea! We are deeply grateful to our hosts thoughtful outfitting of Lehua. The highlight of our vacation! "
