Family Vacation

We had a great family vacation with kids and grandkids. It was a perfect house for together time but close enough to other activities fo some individual activities as well. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!!

The Best!

Oh my gosh this was the Best vacation ever! We bought food to cook and never had to leave the property our entire stay there. We had a semi beach for the kids and adults to play in. And every thing else and then some was right there. The View and home were absolutely stunning. Thank you, our stay was worth every single penny.

Family Christmas Reunion

This is a large beautiful home with plenty of room for people to spread out and yet be close. We all enjoyed watching the surf and the relaxing sound of waves throughout our stay.Communicating with three different management groups including VRBO became confusing and tedious.

Fantastic property

It was wayyyy more than we needed for just two of us, but we had an amazing time. The views are fabulous at any time of day or night, but my favorites were the evening sunset ones. The property was immaculate and extremely well equipped with everything you would need to host a large group of friends or family. And the lanai,with outdoor dining and deck chairs, m pool and hot tub were the cherry on top. This property’s it all in a great location, was easily accessed with plenty of parking and, a huge kitchen, 2 sets of washer/dryers, loads of bedrooms and space for everyone to spread out and relax. Not to mention the full wall sliding glass doors and direct ocean frontage. I highly recommend it.

Great house for large group

Our group of three families had a great time at Hale Pua. Large, comfortable, well-stocked. The house is on a busy street but road noise was never a problem. The location is great for exploring the island. Would definitely recommend and return if we get the chance.

Ocean Front Stay

The property was beautiful and had more than enough space for our crew of 15. Three family’s all had sufficient space to have proper numbers of beds. The pictures online are very accurate. The double fridge, washer, dryer and dishwasher’s was a very nice touch. You are right in the edge of the ocean which offered the must beautiful views and spectacular sunsets, however if you have little ones be careful they are climbing on the ocean wall can be very dangerous. Everything in the house worked well. Overall amazing experience.

Exceeded expectations!

Beautiful property in a great location! Loved the pool and hot tub and the backyard had enough grass for the kids to play soccer and football. Snorkeling was great along with the fishing in the ocean behind the home. There was plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our group of fourteen. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Friends enjoyed Hale Pua

The home was as advertised. We had plenty of room and beds for 5 couples. We spent many evenings eating outside and enjoying the beautiful sunset and view. The theater room was a bonus and a great place for our group to take in a movie. We had a fabulous time and Hale Put met or exceeded our expectations.

Beautiful home on the water

We stayed here with 3 teenagers and three small children. The pool was great and the view of the water from the backyard was amazing. We loved the kitchen and the master bedroom suite. Had one question for management and they responded very quickly. Would definitely stay here again!

Very nice setting, good parking, plenty of space for everyone. For a large group it worked out well. 4 families 12 people and did not feel crowded . Kitchen well appointed however rice cooker did not work. House right on ocean so beautiful views, sounds of waves crashing. Minor issue with hot tub, managers quickly resolved. Good location

Picture perfect!

For a family of sixteen with eight adults and 8 kids this home was perfect for our vacation. The pictures on the listing can’t possibly depict how beautiful this home actually is and how breathtaking the views are from the backyard. The home was very clean and well maintained. There is more than adequate space inside and out for a large family. The property management team is top notch and quickly addressed any issues. They checked in on us several times and were very responsive and professional. We do a family vacation every other year with our kids and grandkids and this location/home is tops on our list.

Dream vacation!

Being in Hawaii alone is breathtaking, but to have this house and this view just made our trip that much better. This house is even more beautiful in person!! It’s an actual dream home, I can’t recommend it enough. Or family of 16 fit perfectly and everyone was so impressed by how gorgeous it was. The management team was also so amazing and helpful every step of the way. Highly recommend to anyone taking a big group trip!!

Location, space, amenities

This spacious home is located right on the edge of the water providing glorious views and the sound of the sea throughout the day. The home is beautifully equipped with top of the line kitchenware, table top, bedding and furniture. The "theater" room was a bonus. Though we worried about noise from the busy road adjacent to the property, the home was very quiet and peaceful. Terrific location convenient to activities and shopping.

Two Families Getaway Trip

Beautiful to be on the Ocean with a pool as well! The house was well-equipped and spacious we had two families with grown children and two babies, a total of 14 adults. The property managers were very responsive to any of our needs. It would have been nice to have some beach chairs which we had to rent. Also lacked any sort of cleaning supplies, besides dish soap. But overall, we had a wonderful and memorable experience on our trip to the Big Island!

Great house!

We rented this house with a days notice. Our flight was canceled and our family of 12 suddenly was without accomodations. Not only was the house everything that we needed as a large family, but the management company was outstanding and made the rental process fast and easy. When half of our family had a new fllight cancelation once again, we needed to extend our visit by a day and even that process was made easy. They went over and above to accomodate us at time when we were all feeling in a panic. You won't go wrong renting this house!

Great views and location

The location and the house were great. Worth every penny. There were a few things that did come up during our stay: 1. The water heater shuts off at night. If you have a large family staying that showers at night, you will run out of hot water 2. There were roaches in some of the rooms 3. On the bottom floor office bathroom, every morning, you have to run the water for a few minutes as brown water would some out. 4. The water fall at the pool was not functioning 5. Wi-Fi was not working the first few days but they were able to come by and replace the Wi-Fi routers 6. They had gardeners come during the day and we were not able to use the pool or hang out. Overall, it was a good property with beautiful views. The family enjoyed it and would come again, hopefully with the issues above resolved.

Beautiful Setting

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property is well positioned for sightseeing the island. It is also on a lovely section of the ocean. If you walk along the rocks to the left of the house, the scenery is beautiful and you come to a small sand beach. Also, there is great snorkeling slightly to the right of the house. We were there in mid November and the house does get warm with the evening sun. But if you open the doors, the ceiling fans and use the stand up a/c's provided you get past the few hot hours. The pool is perfect, especially for younger children (we had 5 between ages of 9 and 5);they especially enjoyed the hot tub. The BBQ pit worked beautifully, and we used it twice. There were a couple of things that could be improved. The remote for the fans were a little tricky to figure out how to use (there may have been directions but I did not see them) and the lighting in the kitchen area could be increased. There are a few other minor suggestions, but not worth mentioning. The kitchen has two coffee pots, 2 dish washers-which were really nice for a large group. There are also two washing machines and dryers. Over all, the house made for a truly memorable family vacation. I would stay there again! Mahalo!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It's hard to put into words our experience at Hale Pua. I'll start with beautiful, memorable, and fantastic. We were met by Nick who walked the house with us and showed us around. The house is not 'modern' in style, but it is beautiful, clean, spacious, and has a great open floor plan ideal for large groups that like to be 'together'. We had 17 people. A mix of adults and kids. There are five bedrooms with master beds, one room with two singles, another room with a pull out couch. One of the master bedrooms has a pull out couch in it. For us and the mix of kids and adults... the sleeping worked out. A lot of our older kids liked to sleep on the couches. I have stayed in a lot of homes with large groups and this home by far was the most prepared for its visitors. There was plenty of bath towels, linens, toilet paper, dishes, pots, pans, trash bags...... there were even spices and some coffee there. We went grocery shopping for food items but a lot of the 'basic' things you need to cook were already there. So impressive. (We have stayed at a place with 18 people that had 2 trash bags for us when we arrived.) multiple fridges, two washers, two dryers, two dishwashers..... completely set up for large groups. The location is perfect in Kona. Can't say it much better. Airport - 25 minutes, downtown Kona - 5 minutes, volcano - 90 minutes, Hilo less than 2 hours. And the best part.... the view and backyard. The pictures you see online do not lie!!! It's just amazing. We were in awe everyday just hanging out back. We didn't even use the back of the house (game room and movie room). The pool and hot tub were great, plenty of lawn chairs and outside seating, huge glass doors to open the whole house up. AC in each bedroom was perfect. We had one AC that didn't work and the landlord responded promptly that same day to fix it. Lastly, the landlord did 'hover'. I could say more..... If we go to Hawaii again, I will be

Stunning post card worthy views, great location, close to town, and wonderful, communicative hosts. Would be lucky to stay here again in the future. There are a few things to borrow for the beach but it would be nice if an umbrella, cooler and beach chairs were available to use as you'll have to source those for yourself.

50th Anniversary Trip

We loved our stay at Hale Pua! Beautiful, spacious and comfortable accommodations and absolutely breathtaking views! Waves crashing over the seawall, sunrises and sunsets and so much more. Close to downtown Kona, yet completely private. Our young grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the media room of course! The adults were thrilled with the setting. We had a wonderful time! Thank you so much!
