  • Kahaluu Beach Holmes is a great vacation rental property with a spectacular view! We are located a short 300 feet from Kahaluu Beach, one of the Island’s premier snorkeling beaches. Our home offers unrivaled views of the beach and a panoramic view of the pacific ocean from our large lanais. We offer 4400 sq ft of living space on two levels and can sleep 10 comfortably. Larger groups contact us prior to booking.

    The top two floors of the 3 story home, that are approximately 2200 sq ft each. Both floors have two king bedrooms / two bathrooms, a full size furnished kitchen, large living room, and private lanai with beautiful ocean views. For larger groups each level has a comfortable queen size futon with a 'real' mattress, the 2nd floor has an additional queen size Murphy bed in the living room. This allows beds for 10 plus the futons.

    Each floor has a private entrance as well as a comfortable indoor split level stairway that joins them.

    The house is fully furnished, there is great off street parking, laundry, WIFI, cable, and the view from the top floor is unmatched. Unquestionably one of the best vacation rentals in the area.

    We are located 300 feet (an easy walk down the driveway) from Kahaluu Beach! Undoubtedly one of the best snorkeling spots on the Big Island. Fed by a fresh water spring, up to 10 million gallons per day. These waters are almost always calm, with colorful corals, rock formations, and 100+ species of fish. Swim with huge schools of colorful fish and green sea turtles in these protected waters; don't forget your underwater camera!

    The north end of the beach is where the waves break and is best for body boarding and surfing. The local surf instructors give lessons there on a regular basis. Kahaluu is well loved because of the calm, protected waters - perfect for families and kids as well as the adventurous wave seeker. Shady trees surround this beautiful sandy beach. Facilities include a pavilion, rest rooms, showers, a lifeguard tower. Concession stands, surf school and beach gear rental.

This house is amazing! It was perfect for 3 couples, we had lots of space to roam around and do our own thing when we wanted to. The snorkel beach across the street was the best snorkeling we had on our trip. We also went to Kauai. There were so many different fish it was amazing! The house was clean and comfortable. Thank you for an amazing stay! If/when we come back, we would definitely stay here again! Mahalo!

This home was perfect for our informal family group of 4 adults and 3 kids. The location could not have been better for surfing, snorkeling and convenience. The host and on-location manager were very responsive and helpful prior to and during our stay. The plentiful deck space was well used for morning coffee, watching the kids surf, outdoor dining, game nights and drying out all those bathing suits and towels. We definitely would stay here again!

Breathtaking View!

This property is just as described in the listing. It is clean, private and has all the necessary items you need for cooking meals and enjoying your time on Hawaii. We had plenty of room to spread out and relax. The cherry on top is Kahalu’u beach which is directly in front of the house. Morning snorkeling was the best! We will definitely return!

Great location

This was a great location! Right across from a great snorkel spot. The unit had some gear to borrow but we ended up renting some better gear. The view from the top balcony was amazing, beautiful views of the water, the morning rainbows and loads of birds in the area. Parking was sufficient, the driveways are all tight here but our large car had no issues. Great host! She was super communicative and nice :)

Very well located and clean property. Loved the nearness to the beach but set back from main road a few houses. Great view from both balconies! Plenty of fans and shaded balconies to keep us cool during some hot weather.

What a great place to stay! Had a great time!

there were nine of us, ages 10 to 67, we all enjoyed the house. It was very comfortable and well maintained. The view from the lanai was incredible. The location was perfect, we'd walk to beach and snorkle. Close to shopping, night life and harbor.

Location, location, location!

This beachside property has it all! Plenty of space for our family group of 9. The hosts were wonderful, even letting us know about our safety when Mauna Loa erupted during our stay and when the power went out. Location was central to all we wanted to do. Truly a delightful experience!

Excellent way to stay on the big Island.

It would be impossible to find a better location. Snorkeling beach is directly across the street. Easy drive to town, the airport, and other interesting places. And a nice home with king sized beds and 4 bathrooms! Everything you need!

The perfect house for a large family.

This was just perfect for us. Kids stayed on 1 level and adults on the other. Location was far enough from the hustle and bustle of Kona but close enough when you want to go into town. Sound of ocean drowned out the road noise from Ali'i Dr. Snorkeling was AMAZING.

Great stay close to the beach

Group of 7 adults. We had a great stay at this place. Home is clean, spacious, has everything you need but you need to bring your own toiletries. Short drive to town, great snorkeling beach right across the street and amazing views from the balconies. Host was responsive and helpful. Would recommend and stay again. Thank you!

Great for a family vacation

Our family of 8 stayed in the top two floors of the home, which is just a long driveway from Ali'i Drive, and then across the street to Kahulu'u Beach. It worked out very well for us! A kitchen, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms on each floor plus boogie boards and water shoes to share. There are several homes along the driveway, ruins of an old heiau on Ali'i, and snorkeling at the beach. A relaxed place to spend a week!

Amazing location of the perfect house for a large group!

This house was perfect for our large family! We were able to let our adult children and their significant others take the 2nd floor and we took the 3rd floor! It was very close to a very cool snorkeling location! We enjoyed the quick access to a beautiful beach! I got a little anxious raising for instructions for checking in however they sent it slightly early so that was nice!

Beach House

The house was great. The only thing really missing and keep in mind we are from the northern colder states, was air conditioning. Mid-afternoon, with the humidity was hard for us. Evenings and early mornings were great for being cooler and comfortable, especially out on the balconies...beautiful! The location was perfect and the neighborhood felt very safe!
