8/10 Good

"Not sure why, the first unit I was assigned smelled really bad. Then I switched to another unit. The new unit when the AC turned on there’s a bad smell in the bedroom. The staffs were very polite and friendly. 1 parking spot for free. Had dishwasher and soap, laundry soap, paper towels tissues and whatever you need, except for spices and sauces. KTA grocery store is only 2 mins away. The resort restaurant didn’t have many options on the menu, and there was a bunch of flies flying around my food while eating. The cost is lower than other places tho."

"I have been here once before. It’s a lovely property and the staff is great. What is unfortunate is that they changed their food/coffee. They used to have a little coffee bar where you were able to get great drinks such as matcha and they had a great restaurant. They have changed the restaurant and the food is not as great. Also very overpriced for the quality of food you’re getting. It’s better to go off property for food. They did great renovations but we had to call someone to come clean the vent in our bathroom because chunks of debris were falling from it. The manta deck is still under renovation so there was no place to view the manta rays and the light they shine in the water wasn’t operating. I’m sure that won’t be a forever thing though."

"The room was clean, the staff were friendly. The unfortunate thing was that I paid for a room with a balcony and an ocean view. Our view was of the parking lot and some tennis courts. Staff said they couldn’t do anything about it since we booked through a third party (Expedia)."

Big Island Retreat

6/10 Okay

"The property was beautiful. I would entertain staying in a different room, but we did not have a bathroom in our room so we had to walk across the way in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. You could hear every conversation and the unit above us was very loud. Just be ready for a 530am or 6am wake up call."
