This is a wonderful property with a great Hawaii vibe! It’s close to downtown with beautiful ocean views and the sound of crashing wave always present. Mermaid cove provides excellent snorkeling/ swimming especially for the kids in our group. The house was fully equipped. The kitchen was especially well stocked. Our host was very responsive and helpful. I go back in a flash

As the person before us wrote..."Unfortunately the day before we arrived I received a message that the pool/hot tub heater was not working. That was one of our main reasons for renting this house."... Same for us. We were very disappointed as we thought that it had been fixed per that January review (we had booked in Dec before that review so we were stuck and hopeful it was fixed for us). It was broken our entire week visit - they were waiting on a part to arrive and it took longer than they estimated. I will tell you the ocean is warmer than their unheated pool so we were not able to use it at all - too cold. The house was nice and a nice location being on the beach. The beach view from the house was great. If you want a functioning pool/hot tub, I'm not sure I would trust this house for a while.

Unfortunately the day before we arrived I reviewed a message that the pool heater was not working. That was one of our main reasons for renting this house. We weren’t sure how our granddaughter was going to like the ocean so having the pool warm for her was a must.

Mermaid Cove

We traveled to Mermaid Cove with our 3 kids, and 5 grandkids to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary. The house was everything we could have imagined and more - the perfect setting for a fantastic 10 days. Incredibly well equipped, and located right on the water - we spent happy days on the beach or in the pool.

The Perfect Getaway

Aloha!!! This home was absolutely beautiful! It was incredibly clean and well-maintained, with a fully stocked kitchen—even including a few emergency spices, which was a thoughtful touch. The hot tub heated up quickly and was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring.The location is unbeatable, with a stunning private cove just steps from the back door—ideal for swimming or snorkeling. Plus, it’s conveniently close to local shops and stores, which made everything easy and stress-free.One thing to note: the neighbor to the left (when facing the ocean) is sensitive to noise. If you're traveling with a larger group, be mindful of volume after 8 p.m., as she may call security. Security was polite but firm when they came by.Despite that, I would absolutely stay here again. The home, the setting, and the amenities all made for a truly memorable trip.

Best Family Vacation

This home is beautiful! It had exceeded all our expectations. - from the ornate and attention to details in the house, to the beautiful beach just outside the gate. Perfect place for our grandkids, who enjoyed the pool and beach daily. I highly recommend this home, you will not be disappointed. We can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely Perfect!

This house was absolutely perfect. We had the best time with our family and friends. I was looking for a house on the beach where we could feel the breeze and listen to the waves crashing on the shore and it didn't disappoint. The beautiful house is situated on the best part of Keiki Beach with nothing short of a phenomenal view. It was very comfortable, clean and tidy. Everything was meticulously labelled and easily to use. The downstairs lanai with pool and hot tub was a favorite hangout for the kids and adults alike although the upstairs lanai was also very lovely. There were tons of pool and beach toys available to use as well as plenty of games and fun dress up outfits the kids loved. You can tell the owners put a lot of effort into making it family friendly. This was a top-notch place to stay, and we would do it again in an instant.

Beautiful vacation home in a private neighborhood. Eight of us were very comfortable and the amenities suited all of our needs. The location and view were a dream. Stores and shopping within 5-10 mins. The management company was prompt and helpful. We all had a wonderful vacation.

Family getaway

This home did not disappoint. We are a family of 5 and my mother came with. We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, high school graduation, 8th grade graduation and celebrating health. Our 3 children joined us, 18,16, and 14. My mother joined us too.The location was wonderful. Snorkeling right out front. A short drive to Kona for shopping and food. 20 minutes to the airport. Costco, Walmart and a new Safeway very close to the house. A few restaurants within walking distance, maybe 10-15 minutes. Plenty of space to stretch out. We spent most nights on the lanai talking. Meals at the big dining table. The pool area was nice, there is a public walkway right next to the house, which I was not aware of. It was fine, just more traffic than expected. There is a wall that helps with privacy. Maybe a little more greenery on that wall would need nice. Plenty of pool toys, especially for small children. The kitchen was stocked! There were starter supplies-water, dish detergent and clothing detergent. Small shampoo and conditioners, but I would bring shampoo/conditioner, and body soap. Small beach out front, usually filled up with other beachgoers. Woke up one morning to a large cruise ship, was there for only about 12 hours, can hear the engine, but we just played music in background. The sound system did not work, which was disappointing. The hammock was broke upon our arrival, but was replaced within a day. Not sure if the pool was cleaned. Amazing house, highly recommend.

Great space and location

Expansive and family friendly property. Lots of communication and direction. Only issues were 10am check out, some dust on fans (beware the dust allergy sensitive types) and termites, and cushions in need of replacement. Generally, a very good stay. Beach front perfection with crashing waves, and good views. Kona!

Amazing location

The house sits on an amazing small private beach that has a protected reef. The kids enjoyed snorkeling all day and as parents we really didn’t have to worry about waves, etc. The house has plenty of rooms and space for a large family. Also, the house has more the of small niceties such as utensils, spices, plates, etc… than numerous other vacation rentals we have stayed at.

Amazing Property

The house was as advertised and fit out family of 8 adults and 6 grandkids vey well. The pool was amazing and the beach was pretty cool too. My only complaint is the BBQ is hard to light despite changing the starter battery. When it did light there was a big Whoosh.

Beautiful Vacation Property

Our stay was amazing! The house lives up to the photos. Our younger children loved in the pool, while the teenagers enjoyed the beach right out front. We enjoyed coffee on the balcony watching the waves crash, fish as well as a sea turtle in the tide pool, humpback wales breaching and cocktails with the sunset at night. There was plenty of space for our family of 11. The house was well stocked and had everything we needed. Thank you for a wonderful vacation! 🌺

Fantastic Beach Front Property

This property was spacious, comfortable and had a fantastic location. Total Hawaii vibe. Private and right on a beautiful small public (yet not too crowded) beach and just 5 minutes from everything in Kona. Our best family vacation yet.

Dream Location

We spent a week in Mermaid Cove and leaving was so hard! The views out every back window/door are just jaw dropping. The waves sound like they’re in the house, and the sliding doors that open the living room up to the lanai make it seem as if you’re on the beach at all times. Being able to walk out the back door and take a few steps to reach the beach and Keiki Ponds absolutely MADE our vacation. Easily the best place to stay in Kona! Pros: *LOCATION!!!! The protected cove out back is ideal for swimming, snorkeling, even boogie boarding. We saw a sea turtle, many fish, and a moray eel. *Well equipped kitchen *Air conditioning in the bedrooms and relaxation spaces (unnecessary in the living room and kitchen with the breeze off the ocean) *Pool is private and the rental has tons of pool and beach gear available *Close to town but felt very private and protected due to it being in a gated community *Fun spaces and plenty of toys and such for young children (not part of our group but would have been awesome with little ones) Cons: *No powder room/guest bathroom which made it a bit challenging while hanging out on main floor; all bathrooms are only accessible through the associated bedrooms *On high tide days (we had several during our trip), the sea water/beach sand floods the entire backyard, rendering the patio and pool completely unusable (although management had someone out the next day to clean out the sand from the pool) *Master bathroom shower has an unfrosted window with no covering that looks directly into the neighbor’s house and pool area This house was the ideal setting for our family vacation and we could not have been happier with the proximity to the ocean. Our son even proposed to his girlfriend just a ways down the beach! We already miss going to sleep to the sound of the waves crashing on the lava rocks and waking up to the incredible view. Wonderful memories we will always treasure!

Never wanted to leave.

OMG!!! Such an amazing home. Had it been for sale, I would have purchased it and my kids would be coming there to visit me! This home had absolutely EVERYTHING and ANYTHING you could imagine. Only problem we had was, it was so beautiful, nobody wanted to leave it to go explore! We traveled a long way from West Virginia to stay in the pool! We did go whale watching…shouldn’t have…we saw so many more just watching from the lanai! So many wonderful memories made there. My 4 year old granddaughter cried when we left and asks daily when we are going back to “our” Hawaii house. That’s how much it felt like home to us. We tried for fun to think of something they didn’t have there for their guests…the only thing we could come up with was parkas for our trip up Mauna Kea! This company could give lessons on how to set up a rental home…I can’t imagine anyone doing it better. So grateful for our time spent there.

Superb house with ample amenities in gated community.

Has gate to a beach and lagoon for snorkeling. Outstanding location with ease to Farmers Market and town. I do recommend that they put cushions on the dining chairs.

Great accommodations and excellent location

The house worked out perfectly for our family of 8. It is extremely well equipped with everything from beach toys to chairs, umbrellas, etc. the kitchen has everything as well. It’s kinda funny but very helpful that someone went crazy with a label maker identifying everything from dishes in each cabinet to light switches. The only thing I’d say is the decorations and furniture are a bit dated and the house has clearly been a high volume rental showing quite a bit of wear and tear. However, having the beach out your front door and close proximity to town really couldn’t be beat.
