"Everything about this place was perfect! The whole place was clean and comfortable. There were plenty of utensils and appliances for anything you could need. Lots of closet space and storage space. The bathroom was so big and the shower was amazing! I am short and most shower heads are way too high. I loved that this one adjusted according to your height. And, the different settings on it were great. I loved the surroundings of the property. Seeing beautiful mountains from one side and beach from the other was just what we wanted. There were no other large hotels surrounding us and deterring from our views. Having the security guard post with an actual person there, made it feel very secluded and definitely safe. We used to have chickens, roosters and a peacock for many years until he died of old age. So, having so many peacocks, pea hens and chickens around did my heart good.We were doing so much every day that we only got to the pool one time. It was in the evening and we were the only ones there. The pool, pool area and BBQ area were very nice. They had tiki torches lite and it created a nice ambiance. The host was amazing. Any time I had a question, he responded immediately. He also gave suggestions on places to go and where to see wildlife. Aki’s Beach was one place he sent us to see sea turtles. It did not disappoint. We saw at least 4 of them swimming along with a seal that was just lounging.I would definitely recommend this place!"
"The house was perfect for us. This trip was for our 30th anniversary. Our first time to Hawaii, so we will definitely be back again. Being right on the beach and a different sunset every night was a wonderful experience. "
Charming Studio Apartment with Cold AC in fabulous Makaha
10/10 Excellent
"What a gem! Location is excellent - 5 minutes drive near Makaha Beach (rougher waves, popular with locals), few more beach north of there or drive 5 minutes more south to Pokai Bay Beach Park is you prefer calmer and more quiet! Both felt safe, have spectacular views of Makaha Valley and feel more local than the hustle and bustle, touristy Waikiki. The drive into the Towers is jaw dropping! The condo is a roomy studio suite with large king-sized bed, fully stocked kitchen and bathroom, with a balcony with a view of the pool, BBQ area, and Makaha. The cold water bottles in the fridge was a nice touch especially after the long drive from the airport. Was able to sleep with the slide doors open for some fresh air although I wouldn't recommend it if u're a night owl and light sleeper; you can hear groundskeepers and pool guests talking as early as 7a. We didn't mind it as we loved waking up to the sounds of birds and peacocks...yes peacocks! Pool is lovely, slightly heated and is saltwater. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!A few minor things for the host to keep in mind for future guests:1) host is very communicative leading up to check-in, but silent once you're in the condo. I communicated via VRBO and text but no response. It was a holiday week so that might be a reason but it would have given us a peace of mind if they were a little more responsive.2) Laundry is included as an amenity. explicit instruction on usage would have been excellent."
Ocean-Sunset Views Home in Gated Makaha Community w/Great amenities
10/10 Excellent
"Overall our stay was very good. House has everything you need. Check in very easy, The only things we would suggest is a gas Grill over a charcoal grill. We just think more people use gas over charcoal these days and would get a real toaster but that us:) "
"Condo worked out great. Great location right on the beach, clean and well stocked. On-site management (Kim) was very responsive whenever we had questions.
The homeless camps in the area were a bit of a downer but all n all a great stay."
"Danny was amazing host! He had lots of recommendations on things to do, was very considerate, and is an overall great guy. Would stay at any of his properties in the future!"
Tranquil Vacation Home in Makaha Valley Near Beach w/Exterior Dining & Bbq
10/10 Excellent
"Great space for family with breathtaking views. Loved the fact that everyone had their own bathroom. Kitchen had everything we needed but dishwasher was leaking so we ended up hand washing. Clothes dryer took a long time to dry clothes. Location was further from attractions than expected. Because of traffic it took us two hours to get to Pearl Harbor and other side of island one way. Pool, hot tub and exercise gym were fantastic."
