This hotel looks so nice, but the main reason for one's stay at a hotel is to sleep and the whole sleeping area needs a major overhaul. First and foremost, the bed is like sleeping on cardboard. I literally could barely walk after getting out of bed in the morning. Every bone in my body hurt. The worst of all was the pillows. Why on earth are they using very flat, awful, smelly down pillows? Why not hypoallergenic down alternative pillows that are fluffier and can be washed and sanitized? I woke up with a migraine, snot literally running out of my nose, and a rash on the side of my face I was sleeping on. And they were so flat I had to sleep on three of them. Lastly, the flooring in the entryway is not extended into the sleeping area. The carpeting is dirty, ugly, and not allergy friendly. Additionally, even though our room was "refreshed" after our first night's stay, we did not get more coffee, tea, sugar, or cream refilled and were only provided enough for one morning. Same for bottled water. Stays at other comparable hotels refilled these items daily. I had such high hopes for this "luxury" hotel that is not luxury at all. This is the closest hotel to our son who lives in the KC area but we will not be staying again until upgrades are made.

The room did have a slight bad smell when we first checked in, I did happen to have my own air fresheners, so I got that under control myself. I was not happy the way our breakfast was handled, other people were getting waited on and getting their food that sat down after we got there, I don’t understand what the problem was, got handed off to another waitress while still trying to get coffee and get our food ordered, only had one place setting of silverware on the table, and no sugar on the table, after I got my coffee cups, I have to get those items off another table after the customers left, and as I looked around, others had their own coffee craft, but one was given to us, I still don’t understand why????, saw other couples get their food and get done before us, we were there an hour, I did complain to the check in desk when we checked out, was not happy with that experience, that made me not wanting to ever return , I did like the room and the shower was very nice

Yes and no. The check in clerks/front desk had little to no knowledge about public transportation options when asked about a local location, that I was traveling to, only suggesting Uber. When I inquired about a local newspaper, again the check in clerks/front desks clerks had no response other than "I have no idea where you can get a newspaper." This may seem minor to someone who doesn't enjoy a certain spirit, but I noticed that you do not have any gin products for sale in your small kiosk Yes: The bartender I encountered on Thursday, in the lounge, early evening was amazing! I ordered a Caesar salad and a cup of coffee. She was so kind, professional and her service was attentive.

Lobby smelled like sewage. Only one elevator seemed to be working. Waited a long time in the bar for anyone to acknowledge that we were there. No hot water in the shower and the toiletries on the counter in the room had already been opened and used. Gross.

We did not have hot water last night or tonight. We called the front desk for help with this last night and someone came up to fix it. We had hot water this morning. Today at 5pm we didn't have hot water again. We asked someone to take a look. At 9:30pm we still didn't have hot water. This is disappointing. Also, you ask us to hang up our towels and go green..so as not to use housekeeping and use more towels. However, there are no hooks or towel bars to hang the towels.

I was looking forward to staying at The Fontaine, especially given its reputation as a top upscale hotel in KC but unfortunately, my experience fell far short of that standard. The room itself was surprisingly cramped, which was disappointing for a property marketed as upscale. Even worse, the cleaning service was unreliable. One day housekeeping showed up at 8am and I asked them to come back later - they did not return that day. The next day when housekeeping actually showed up, all they did was make the bed. I requested a full service that day. They didn’t replace the trash liners, replenish the in-room coffee, or remove the dirty towels I’d intentionally placed on the floor for replacement. The floors and counters were never cleaned during my six-night stay. For a hotel in this price range, that level of service is unacceptable. I also had issues with billing: the hotel attempted to charge me for overnight parking every night, even though I only parked overnight twice. It felt careless and added an unnecessary layer of frustration to the stay. The bathroom wasn’t in great shape either—there was splattered paint in the corners and several areas clearly in need of repair. Overall, the room and upkeep didn’t reflect anything close to a luxury experience. In the end, The Fontaine was not a comfortable place to stay and did nothing to make guests feel like they were in a high-end hotel. I expected much better and would not choose to stay here again.

No hot water at all. Room was dirty and needed repairs. Blankets/bed was dirty with many stains. Very uncomfortable.

Breakfast menu was okay the fruit was not fresh and possibly was going bad, My water did have something floating around in it and the omelet and potatoes was okay despite salt n pepper being present the food needed more flavor and seasoning. The Staff was very nice and polite I loved how Clean the room was.
