Great setting and old building with a rich history. Room was not clean—rug had not been vacuumed and also had stains and the bedside table had something sticky on the top. Also could not turn fan on HVAC system to circulate air.

Cute and comfortable little inn upstairs from the winery. Very soft, comfortable linens. The building is old with lots of character, so the main downside was the creaky floors and sound traveling through the walls. Wine tasting downstairs after settling in the inn for the night was super convenient, and their wines are delicious!

We arrived around 8pm. The property was so dark we had no idea if we wrre even at the correct location. No where in the description does it say that you have to go around back of the property when you arrive. The back parking lot was also very dark. I think we may have veen the only guests at the property that night. The property is actually very beautiful and majestic its just badly lit. The staff was ultra friendly and the room was decent although it was really poorly lit also (not even a lamp) just a couple sparse ceiling lights. The room was very clean but the tv was rather small. Overall it was a good stay just kinda creepy being the only guests at such a huge pkace. We would definitely try it again.

We'll take the comment about being the only one there as a compliment since there were 4 other rooms booked and occupied! We were surprised about the lamp comment as there are two in each room! When you come and see us next time, have the staff walk you through the room. We'd love to show you everything the room has to offer that you may have missed the first time!

A very interesting inn. We would stay here again. If staying in the Kansas City area again it will be the first place we will look up for availability and price. We went to the Truman Library in Independence and then to Hamilton for the quilting stores the next day, so it was a great location. Went to Ginger Sue’s in Liberty for breakfast the morning we left. We enjoyed the stay very much.

The bathroom in room 4 was marvelous. Fully remodeled, modern, clean, bright and well appointed (lots of fluffy white towels!) The rest of the room was not great. Poorly lit, no decorative pieces of any kind. No pictures on the walls. A Keurig with no cups. Gritty floors, huge dust balls behind the bed. The bed was moderately comfortable but above it was a huge ceiling grate probably 20x20 so that we were looking into a huge pipe. The grate was coated with dust. Very disgusting and very creepy. This property was an old OddFellows home. It is rundown in many areas inside as well as outside. Huge empty hallways, creaky walls and floors, wide gaps around the rooms door and a painted over transom window let in beams of light all night long. This property leaves much to be desired. The girl at check in (in the bar) was very sweet.

Interesting place but that's about it
The property has an interesting history but beyond that the stay did not meet our expectations. The bed sheets were covered in black hair as though they weren't even changed from the previous guest. The room itself had no decor to soften the place and make it feel comfortable. Bare walls and floors made it feel very cold and lacking in character.

Paper thin walls
Vibe was cool, the service was fine. The rooms were ok but the walls paper thin! You could hear full on conversations not just movement or loud sounds. It was so bad we got up and left at like 8am even though we had late check out. I’m sorry I wanted to live it but that was just awful hearing my neighbors have sex.

Horrible experience!!
Rude unfriendly staff clearly don’t want to deal with customers. Dirty bathroom, walls paper thin, towels smelled musty. Don’t tell you that they are closed until 3pm so although we didn’t expect to check in the fact that we drove 3 hours and on arrival at 2.50pm they wouldn’t even open the door to let us use a bathroom. They just hung up and said - not open until 3 then put the phone down on us!!! Avoid where possible we got much better cleaner experience in Holiday inn and other chain hotels!!! We traveled from the Uk and stayed in different hotels and this was supposed to be a “treat” to end the trip and was actually the worst most disappointing and dirty place we stayed in!!!

Oh goodness! So sorry to hear! We’ll certainly discuss this with our staff and see where we can improve. As you mentioned, we do open at 3:00 on Monday-Wednesday, so unfortunately we don’t open for check ins before that time, which is clearly noted on the reservation information.
