Girl's Holiday

Villa Yar is perfect for a girls getaway break. We had the best holiday in Kalkan, the villa was gorgeous with everything you could ask for. Especially the jacuzzi which was lovely. It has a wonderful view over Kalkan which is a great town, the food is delicious and all the restaurant staff are helpful and kind . We definitely want to go back again.

Peaceful and relaxing

We had a wonderful week at Villa Yar. The villa it's self was just lovely, beautifully decorated and with amazing views from the pool, kitchen and every bedroom, in fact if there was a window to look out of the view was stunning! The roof top terrace with its own table, chairs, mini kitchen and bathroom is a great place to catch the last of the sun whilst enjoying a well deserved drink. Fully fitted kitchen and BBQ meant we could suit ourselves to wether we went out to one of the restaurants in Kalkan, of which there is an abundance to choose from with menus and prices to suit everyone, or stay in and keep enjoying the views! Where the villa is situated means that its is quiet and peaceful and we can't wait to go back! Would I recommend Villa Yar to family & friends? Yes, but only if they take us with them ;-)

BEAUTIFUL VILLA

Just returned from a week at the fabulous Villa Yar. We are a couple in our 50s who just wanted a quiet chilled out week and that is exactly what we got !! The communications with the owners prior to arrival had been excellent and the transfer from the airport arranged by the owners was very smooth and we were in the Villa in no time at all. The Villa is huge and the description in the listing is spot on . It is appointed high on the cliff side and not overlooked was nice to have the place to ourselves but would be plenty big enough for larger groups. The area is very quiet and peaceful and the views across the bay amazing, especially from the infinity pool !! Furnished throughout to a high standard , spotlessly clean and fully equipped with all you would need kitchen wise . Not that we did Much cooking !!! I was on holiday after all . We quickly found our bearings and took the water taxi each evening across the bay to the harbour and ate in one of the many different restaurants on offer and did not have one bad meal . We were happy is to spend our days relaxing by the pool although there were many places of interest in the area should you wish to travel further afield . I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending the villa and do hope we can return again in the near future , thanks to Lucy and Paul

Disappointing as sun disappears after 1 p.m.

The villa itself is just in front of a hill and the sun disappears from 1 p.m . every day so you are left in the shade and cannot see any sunsets. The pool is not an infinity pool - but it is still very pleasant with a lovely view of the bay. The Jacuzzi was too cold to use. The rooms are clean and functional although the DVD player wasn't working and needed 2 visits to repair. The pool light was broken and remained so for the duration of my 2 week visit. The patio light was repaired during the visit. The TV in the largest bedroom didn't receive a signal so couldn't be used. There was continual building work very close to the villa - apparently November is the building month but I wasn't made aware of this. You will need to hire a car/taxi to get to the very small pebbly beach. I cannot comment on the local facilities such as the beach club and spas/massages as they were closed for the season.

A great luxury villa

Villa Yar is a great villa. We had a superb stay there as a group of 11 adults. All the facilities we wanted were there. All the rooms are well presented with great views across Kalkan.

Half term heaven

Great property with a heated pool which the kids absolutely loved for hours on end. Loads of space and hot water and all felt very homely. The fact that its a 5 minute taxi ride from the centre of town wasn't a problem in the slightest as taxis were there in a flash and very responsive. A fantastic week's holiday. thank you.

Spectacular property in a fabulous location

This was our first visit to Kalkan and we absolutely loved the house. It is fitted out to a high standard, there is a/c in every room and the bathrooms and kitchen appear new. Lucy, the owner was incredibly responsive with detailed and helpful emails. The top floor has 1 ensuite double room with a breathtaking wraparound balcony. The next floor down has 1 double ensuite and 1 kingsize bed with a family bathroom. The third floor down has 1 double ensuite, and a twin and double that share another bathroom. The ground floor is enormous with a big inside table, several outside tables and of course the magnificent pool. The gardener who came in twice a day can deliver bread and water when asked. There is a fantastic boat service 5 minutes walk down the somewhat steep hill which runs every 30 mins or so into Kalkan. The Kalkan beach club at the bottom of the hill couldn't be more perfect for families with kids as it has a water slide, water trampoline and trampoline jump. The taxi fares into town are inexpensive and Lucy has a great contact for this service. Overall a beautiful villa in a beautiful location.

FABULOUS DARLING!!

A perfect location with stunning views over Kalkan. The heated pool was delightful. We were a party of seven, 4 adults and 3 children ages 15, 9, 8. The villa met the needs of everyone. Lucy is the most communicative and amenable of hosts and the property management is without fault. We would happily return or recommend to anybody.

The best Villa in Kalkan!

What an amazing time we had at villa Yar, Lucy the owner is fantastic and gave us great advice about our stay! We had an amazing day chartering a boat - we saw dolphins and flying fish and snorkelled with turtles. The history and beach at Patara were amazing and we also visited Gocek, Kas, Fethyie Market, Xanthos and Myra during the stay. The highlight was the gorge which was stunning and we did more shopping than we imagined!

My happy place.

Villa Yar was by far the best villa I’ve stayed at in Kalkan- and I’ve stayed in a number. It’s spacious (we are a family of 6), modern yet not losing that homely feel, a stunning terrace with the best view anywhere in the world- i’m well travelled and have stayed in some of the most incredible places but the vista from this villa is one of a kind. I can’t wait to go back. Thank you Villa Yar for creating some unforgettable memories that will stay with my family and I forever xx

Fantastic Stay

Another fantastic stay at villa Yar. The villa offers the best views of Kalkan away from the hassle and bustle and noise of the town. Panoramic views of the bay can be seen from all the bedrooms. There's really nothing quite like waking up and looking out to the sea. A short walk or taxi gets you into town centre. The town has everything you want and more, from a quiet restaurant selling five star food with the back drop of the sea and sunset, or a more lively night in one of the many bars. It really caters for every need with an upmarket feel. Villa Yar is a home from home and has a lovely warming feel. Not just a generic villa but one with heart and soul. Xx

Stunning family villa in unbeatable location

Really cannot recommend the villa highly enough. Great quiet location but near the town, good sized rooms, fantastic views. You will not top this villa in Kalkan

Villa Yar - Fantastic!!!

We were a group of 6 and having seen the photos and previous reviews we knew we had found a Villa and location that was special. When we arrived at the Villa in the early hours of the morning we were blown away by what we walked into in spite of it being dark outside, when we awoke in the morning the view that greeted us was incredible. The view of the bay and across to Kalkan was superb. The pool, jacuzzi, seating areas were all used to the maximum with barbecues in the evening and fun and games and laughter in the pool with our children and Niece. The bedrooms were huge and so well appointed and we all wished we could take those comfy beds hone with us. The lounge area and kitchen was so well equipped with everything you could wish to have at your disposal. Kalkan is a fantastic resort and the local people so welcoming and grateful for your custom. Boat trips, sunset cruises, visits to Patara and Kapustas beach, the weekly market, all great experiences to add to our memories. The Villa owners Paul & Lucy were so helpful from the point of booking to the day we left, the managevent team and the pool man (Jemmi) who brought bread to the villa daily were also so attentive and helped make our holiday so trouble free and relaxing - A great team! We have travelled to many destinations around the world over the last 30 years but I can honestly say that the combination of Villa Yar and Kalkan are a match made in heaven and our group overwhelmingly agreed that this has been our favourite holiday location. Well done Lucy & Paul, you have a real gem in Villa Yar and we have been so fortunate to have experienced it.

3rd year on the trot. And next year the 4th 😍

Thought to share my view! Been coming to Villa Yar for 3 years now and as Kalkan gets more build up this one stays nicely set without everyone overlooking it. The Villa just has it nailed. Enough space, comfort, views and still close enough to town. Having a beach club within 3 minutes walk makes it even better. Can not fault the Villa and always good to contact its owners for the year after. Now I only hope that this review does not make anyone take our week 😊 PS: Was reading up on some of the other comments and must say that the person who left the negative comment must have been either in another house or just a genuine complainer. A Hidden Gem

My second year at Villa Yar and again an excellent stay. The Villa is located perfectly and is set back into the cliffs, offering views across the tranquil bay. In the day time you can see boats gliding across and at night the twinkling lights of Kalkan reflecting into the water, not to mention breath taking sunsets ( best enjoyed with a glass of Rose) The Villa is located just outside the town which means there is no noise at night and offers a nice walk into the town or a very short taxi ride. The Villa its self is like home from home, everything you can think of is supplied and catered for with some lovely extras thrown in ( The towels on my bed had been made into elephants which was very sweet ) The villa offers a very large terrace which was perfect for BBQs and playing cards, before heading out and experiencing Kalkan at night. The town hosts many roof top restaurants and bars, which offer some of the best cuisine I have tasted and in the most idyllic settings. Whether you are looking for a romantic get away or a family escape, Villa Yar would be top of my list. A very safe and truly wonderful holiday. Thank you xx

An absolute gem

We really feel that we've found something very special here. The pictures look amazing but the villa far exceeded our expectations. Kalkan is a beautiful resort with endless fantastic restaurants. We will definitely return year after year.

Villa Yar- The cherry on the Kalkan cake!

I have stayed in Villa Yar before and would not stay anywhere else. The villa is amazing, I love the fact there are loads of different areas to go to, from lounging around the pool, the sofas near the jacuzzi for pre-dinner drinks, the roof terrace, balcony and on and on! This just makes for such a great holiday which we have had there with a small group and a larger group both work so well, everyone has their own space. With all of the doors opening out to what has to be the best view I have ever had on a villa holiday, I am officially in love with Villa Yar! Kalkan itself has so much to offer but if you’re into food like me you cannot fail to be impressed by the quality and range of food you can buy in Kalkan- beautiful, fresh and such amazing value for money to enjoy at home for long dinners overlooking the bay-perfection! For nights out or long sunny lunches the restaurants are gorgeous, each with their own style from fantastic beach clubs, traditional Turkish to high end restaurants (and everything in between) but all with menus which make you want to order everything and when the food arrives, always gorgeous with genuinely no exception. We went on a boat trip which was such a brilliant experience, the water in Kalkan you marvel at each time you see it (on a boat trip you’re surrounded by the stuff!) we saw dolphins, turtles and had such fun visiting different coves along the coast diving in stopping only for a fantastic lunch and endless rose and beer! All in all you cannot beat Kalkan for a holiday and coming home at the end of day to Villar Yar is the cherry on the Kalkan cake!

A memorable and enjoyable stay at Villa Yar

The villa is amazing, plenty of space with everything you need. The welcome pack is a nice touch if you're arriving late in the evening. The villa has a great sundeck, outside seating area, pool etc and everything you want if you fancy a leisurely day there. Alternatively the beach clubs are good, and there are plenty of nice bars and excellent restaurants nearby. We had a wonderful holiday and enjoyed our stay there immensely. I would thoroughly recommend Villa Yar.

Truely Wonderful .. Already Planning My Next Visit

Hard To Beat!! I have travelled a lot and had the privilege of staying in some lovely places, but never have I truly wanted to go to the same place twice.. That was until I stepped into Kalkan and Villa Yar. The villa itself is a home from home but still incorporates all the luxuries of a five star hotel. Looking out form the terrace you are greeted by the most stunning view over the bay, this has to be seen to be appreciated and is even more spectacular at night time when the shimming lights of the town and moon reflect over the bay. The pool is lovely and I enjoyed nothing more than swimming to the view point overlooking the breath taking Tauras Mountains and absorbing the spectacular views. A short walk away and you are in the town itself which has a perfect balance of traditional charm and modern upbeat nights. I really couldn’t recommend Villa Yar more as the perfect holiday spot which caters for all and I’m already planning my next trip.

Fantastic stay at Villa Yar

Had a fantastic stay at the villa, it was absolutely gorgeous and just as described on the website. The view from there of Kalkan is beautiful and it's great to relax in the pool overlooking the sea. Really comfy beds and the bathrooms and kitchens have everything you need. Kalkan is a great town with some lovely restaurants and great shops. Definitely booking to come back!

Wonderful holiday in a beautiful villa

I can't recommend Villa Yar highly enough. Beautifully furnished, with a fantastic pool and terrace, and with spectacular views across the bay, it was a week of bliss! I will definitely be coming back, to both Kalkan and Villa Yar. We had so much fun and there was much to do - from boat trips around the coastline, days at one of the beach clubs, perusing round the shops, to drinks and dinner at one of the many (and extremely high quality, but not expensive) restaurants, Kalkan really is perfect for couples, groups or families. Thank you!

Absolutely Fantastic!

I have just returned from a wonderful week at Villa Yar. I highly recommend as it ticks all the boxes for a perfect holiday. Location is peaceful and so near to a vast selection of restaurants, bars and shops. Everything in the villa is thoughtfully selected and is to a very high spec. The beds are so comfortable and thoughtful touches like washing powder and dishwasher tablets just make it easy. The property is very clean and the pool and outside area is perfectly maintained. The pool is fantastic you can easily spend a couple of hours relaxing in the pool with the sunshine overhead. I visited with my parents and partner and would go back time and time again as I feel I haven't seen all of it yet but on my next visit I will certainly travel along the coastline. All the restaurants along the harbour front are of great quality and are very reasonably priced and our favourite was Gironda a roof top restaurant the food was great quality and only slightly higher in price than the others. Shopping is great be prepared to come back with a jam packed suitcase! There is something for everyone. Any hesitations forget them this is the place to be and a real hidden gem. Loved it!!

relaxing winter holiday, we love kalkan!

We stayed this Christmas at Villa Yar in 20 degrees to avoid the floods back home! whilst it was off season there were still plenty of people about and a number of places open. The Villa is a super location with views right over the bay from all the rooms so the kids didn't argue as to who had what room! You can walk into town if feeling fit! and there is a small beach 100m from the Villa for a swim. The pool and Jacuzzi are both heated which was great although I guess if you go in the summer that's the last thing you want! The Villa inside is very much a home with lovely furnishings, a book shelf fit for a library and over 100 DVDs to choose from although we used Netflix a few times with the provided HDMI cable (thanks Lucy for the tip!). The beds were extremely comfy and we appreciated all towels provided as it saved us space in the suitcase for gifts. Booking the Villa was easy, transfers simple and we had a great break. Thanks so much for letting us stay we will be back next year to make best use of your sunbeds!

Best villa we have ever stayed in, great holiday!

We have been to Kalkan before and stayed on the other side of the bay, but we really loved Kisla (where Villa Yar is) for the views, especially at night! The villa was large, clean and all the rooms were gorgeous and well designed. We loved the heated pool. The villa gets all the morning sun but we popped down to the beach club for free sunbeds and a swim in the sea for the afternoons which was perfect. Kalkan has the BEST restaurants and shops and it is really cheap at the moment. We just loved it. We will be going back again next year!
