"During my stay, my wallet went missing from my hotel room. I had left it on the desk because shops were closed on polling day. When I returned to my room later that day, the wallet was no longer there. CCTV footage confirmed that I had taken my wallet into the room the previous night. This means it disappeared while it was outside the room. When I reported the issue, the manager (LP) said he was “not able to help” and refused to provide records showing who had entered my room while I was out. I also had to ask the reception five times before I was finally able to speak with him, as he was not present at the hotel during working hours. As a result, I lost $100 in cash and two important credit cards. Unfortunately, the hotel management did not offer any assistance, explanation, or gesture of goodwill to help ease the stress caused by this situation. I was very disappointed with how this matter was handled and expected a more responsible and supportive response from the hotel management."

Near several locations you can walk to and explore. The airport collection was really easy. Good wifi in all areas of the hotel. Would stay here again and at other Barahi group properties. "

The architecture of this old historical palace is stunning. The entrance and lobby is so beautiful and great for photos. The garden in front is wonderful and the pool is terrific. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Shanker. It’s the only place I stay when visiting Kathmandu. I’m already looking forward to a return visit!! "If you want an authentic Nepalese place this is the place to stay. My sister and I had the villa which was amazing with our very own balcony and courtyard which no one visited. Breakfast was wonderful, there are quite a few restaurants and the food was superb in all of them. There was a quaint little bar, outside areas with heaters if needed. The Nepalese people are generally the nicest people, always helpful and friendly. Their English was great so that certainly makes it easier. Tick of approval."
