All good except an improvement of the food area

Located in the center of tourist area with many choices of restaurants and shops. Popular to anyone in that area enabling an easy returning back to the hotel in case you have lost your way. The overall condition and service are good except that the dinner area may be too cold in the winter time. Suggest to install warmers in the food area to keep both the food and guests in a warm environment.

Nice hotel with wonderful location

Great location in Thamel, Kathmandu. Decent breakfast and polite staff. Had some mistake of arranged wrong room for my first stay. But compensate me with one more free shuttle to airport.

Good CP value

Pros: 1. Room has view of the courtyard and its great! 2. Abundant perimeter living function (supermarket, restaurant, currency exchange, travel agency, shop...). 3. Staff is nice and helpful. 4. They provide two HUGE bottles of water each day for each room. 5. There is nightly musical performance (Nepal style) in the courtyard and quite enjoyable. Cons: 1. Most TV channels have poor signals. 2. Fridge and hair dryer are not provided on checking in. You need to call Housekeeping to deliver them to your room. 3. Not enough universal plugs in the room. 4. WiFi bandwidth is small. Network speed is slow. 5. Sound proof can be further improved.

except sunrise, what else to do?

Nagakot is a good place for trekking too. I will suggest to arrive the hotel as early as you can, not only avoiding the busy traffic but also enjoy the site seeing there. Not only sunrising is stunning, sunset is romantic there too.

漂亮、舒心的酒店

在加德满都属于中高档酒店了。有很漂亮的花园，在花园里就餐或者聊天感觉都很好。新楼的客房宽敞、干净。老楼的房间比较小，设施也更旧一些。酒店员工训练有素，也愿意帮忙。有WIFI。我们去的时候正在装修，可能是之前地震有所破坏，不过总体影响不大。缺点的话呢，一个是床垫不是太舒服，还有一个是我们住的客房临街，遇到有节日庆典等的时候会很吵。

该酒店花园很美丽，但是房间感觉不匹配，不知是三人间的原因还是都这样子，我们入住时房间尚末打扫，整体给人感觉失望。也可能是酒店的花园给我们太多的联想，所以看到房间后就极具失望了。

Whilst the public areas are clean and tidy, my room was run down and was dusty and dirty in places Toilet TV box. Shower needs descaling as water does not run well. Staff are well trained to be attentive to guests. All needs can be met without leaving the complex if your interested in that can of stay in Nepal.

Nice hotel in a convenient location

This hotel is in the busy Tahmel shopping street, but it is exclusive and quiet, and very convenient to go around. We enjoyed the stay.

We were amazed when we walk in to lobby and saw the outdoor dining area and courtyards but our happiness ended when we enter the room. The room smell so dump, the rug/mat is dirty like never cleaned for years same as the lobby desk floor mat. The towels were literally not in useable condition. Bed linens smell so bad.The shower head , faucet all are dirty lots of marks/dirt. The chicken curry we had taste like butter chicken also dal is tasteless.Evening live music is nice touch but if the artists has mike/speaker and connected to whole courtyard speaker it will creat nice ambience. Breakfast service staff talks so loudly that I heard what they had in their dinner last night no professionalism. The stay was way below than what we expect. Only good things is the lady who escort us to room during check-in was very professional and the courtyard sitting areas with bonfire adds nice atmosphere.

The Kathmandu Guesthouse is the first Guesthouse in Kathmandu. Its rich history only adds to the atmosphere of the place. The service is always excellent. The Staff is always professional and ready to assist you with any questions or problems you may have. The rooms are always clean and very comfortable. The food is outstanding. The service is five star. I have stayed here many times during my seven visits to Nepal. The Kathmandu Guesthouse is an experience of exceptional hospitality and excellence!
