Amazing oceanfront Molokai!

Beautiful condo overlooking the pool and ocean! Amazing sunsets and super nice place. Really enjoyed visiting beaches across the island.

Magic of Molokai

Property is old as most everything is on Molokai. Well maintained and was as described by the owner. Well equipped, clean and quiet. Pool and grounds were well kept and a great place to visit and hang out. Molokai is not for everyone however if you enjoy solitude and slow pace it hits the spot. Locals were very friendly. You give a smile and you get a smile.

Molokai Family Time

Molokai Shores is a great centrally located facility with a pool and a barbecue area that was a great place to meet other people. The condo was very well equipped and worked well for two couples. A big shout out to Chad for working with us to help with our individual needs.

Perfect place for Molokai

We were amazed at how nice this condo was. Straight on view over green grass, palm trees, and the ocean. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. It’s located mid-island so trips to either side of the island were brief and the main town is just a few minutes away. The communication with Chad was near instantaneous. Easy check in. Molokai is great place if you want to unwind, be away from hoards of tourists, but still enjoy Hawai’i.

Great unit, modern look & amazing view!

Enjoyed ourselves at this unit while on Molokai. Unit looked to be recently renovated and had a nice modern look to it. Had everything we needed for use on our trip. Check in was easy and the view from the balcony was always a bonus. Great sunsets and listening to the water just a very short distance away. Great communications with the manager or owner and i wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thanks!

Air conditioning

All was great except that I should have asked if there was air conditioning in the unit. The heat and humidity made it uncomfortable other than early in the mornings. But overall, the unit was great.

Lovely location and condo

We really enjoyed our stay. The location is right in town and an easy drive to everywhere we went. The condo is clean and we enjoyed the shuffleboard, pool and mini golf on the beautiful grounds. The host is great and provides everything you may need in the condo to get you started. He also provided great recommendations for groceries, etc. Molokai is beautiful and we highly recommend hiking in Waimea Valley to the waterfall. Our favorite beaches were Murphy beach and Kepuhi beach. The Kalaupapa lookout is beautiful and we enjoyed making leis at the Plumeria farm.

Wonderful location- some unexpected issues

This is a lovely place on the water - but two issues were real. One is that it is right next to a hostile neighbor who has a sign on his door that has a picture on the door of a pair of eyes that says they are " watching you" and you should use your "f##ing mask" ( this greeted us as we were climbing up the three flights). And also the upper bedroom is so warm that we considered it unusable so we were in the lower bedroom which was cool and comfortable. The upper bedroom also has a winding staircase down to the only bedroom- something we didn't want to try in the middle of the night. But good points- quiet place, pool was never crowded- gorgeous location right before the water- easy parking. So I give it a very good- and there are not , I should mention, many good places to rent on the island. "But if you are there for getaway quiet and a beautiful view and an untouristed island, this might be for you.

Perfect Place to Stay on Molokai

The Hale No Ka Oi was exactly as described on VRBO, and the owner, Chad, couldn't have been more helpful. He responded almost immediately to all of my "tourist" questions before we arrived, and gave us good directions to a couple of hikes we wanted to do. I ended up calling him when we got to the end of one road and found a locked gate and several "No Trespassing" signs on the hike to the Mo'omomi Preserve. I don't know what time it was where Chad was located, but he answered immediately and cheerfully confirmed that we were OK to go past the gate. The preserve was absolutely beautiful and well worth the effort. The condo was very clean, the grounds at Molokai Shores are very well-maintained, and it's very convenient to town, as well as the west and east sides of the island. The laundry room had five washers and dryers, so there was never an issue waiting for someone else to empty their laundry. It was hot every day we were there, but between the ocean breeze and ceiling fans in the condo, it was never uncomfortable. The lanai looks directly on the ocean, we had a great view of the sunset every night. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay, and hope to return next year.

Nicest Condo on Molokai

First time to Molokai after 20years of visiting the other islands. It was a blast to the past—in so many ways the island is clearly 20 years behind the civilized world. Not a stoplight on the island, many roads turn to dirt without warning, no air conditioning in the condo, sketchy cell coverage (at best) around the island, pay phones and an airport without TSA.The condo was exactly as described online and the property manager was very responsive to when a couple little things came up. We appreciated the thoughtful setup such as providing condiments in the kitchen and beach gear for days out at the ocean. There are many repeat visitors at the Molokai Shores resort—people who come back every year for decades. That makes for easy conversation around the pool or when grilling for dinner. Pro tip:stop at Costco in Maui or Honolulu before heading over to pickup meat and dairy for the stay and you’ll come out way ahead cost-wise. You don’t have to go through TSA to catch the commuter plane so liquids are OK as long as you don’t go over weight limits.

Molaka’i get away
