The Inn is always welcoming with an easy check in , comfy room and clean showers. I particulary like coffee available in the early wee hours for us that hike at dawn and the added breakfast treats are wonderful!! Truly a special place in the heart of the High peaks !! Thank you Trails end inn for such a delightful place !!

This is our 2nd time staying at the inn. The inn is charming and the first time we stayed in a room inside the main inn which was a 5 star and very nice. The hosts of the inn are great , so friendly . The room we had this time was outside the inn but an easy in and out to our car and very spacious , it also had a coffee machine which was great as we leave early in the morning for hikes. Again the friendly hosts and their children are always a delight as well as the easy check in. The only down side was the Gothic room was a bit old , the carpet and rusty radiators as well as the cracked tub , just needed a bit updating. The 2nd night we could hear people talking into the night as the walls are thin, other then that the Trails end inn is Great , we totally enjoyed sitting on the porch after our hike in the comfy chairs and chatting with Cocoa and heradorable little boy, truly a warm inviting place to enjoy the Keene valley !!!

The property was gorgeous. Well kept. Beautiful front porch to sit and enjoy your morning or evening. The food was amazing. Staff/owners were friendly. Room was clean and tidy. We had to share a bathroom which I was not prepared for. But it was well stocked and clean. It is an old house and floorboards, door knobs, door hinges and doors getting jammed in the door frame were problematic. Our room also has some structural issues. The floor to our room had a wave feeling and sloped towards window and corner of room. The door to room also got stuck a few times on the rise in floorboards. A heads up for the area, apparently the town of Keene notifies volunteer firefighters by air raid. The last night we were there, we were awoken up by an air raid at 3:30am that lasted at least a minute or so. I didn't know what was going on and I was concerned. Air raids mean something completely different from where I'm from.

Our Second Stay
We stayed here 2 years ago and liked it so when we came back to the area we booked again. The facility was very nice and the service was good. I think it is new ownership since last time. Our daughter was participating in the Ironman so we had to go out VERY early. The lady their put out some items we could take for breakfast that day- very nice. ONE THING TO BE AWARE OF- the listing on hotels.com was for a Bed and Breakfast, so we were surprised to see a charge for breakfast on our credit card! I called and spoke to the mgmt and they reversed the charge. They did say, however, that there was supposed to be something in our confirmation about that, but we never saw it. They said it was posted in the lobby, but we didn’t see it. I’m just pointing it out so new one is surprised.

I liked the communal tub/ shower honestly. It was adorable. And they made fresh baked cookies in the afternoon! The free breakfast is a bonus as well, not like Lake placid's hotels... I'd come here again for a nice fall mountain retreat!

No breakfast at B & B
While the decor is outdated and the bed felt like it was 100 years old, it was overall clean and fine for a place to sleep. We were extremely disappointed that a “bed and breakfast” was not offering breakfast the weekend of our stay as we picked this inn over others because of this meal. Had we known, we would have stayed somewhere closer to our destination as that was the only reason we chose to stay here.

"Thank you for the feedback and for staying with us. Our add-on breakfasts are famous around here, and we apologize it wasn't apart of your Trails End experience this weekend. While our chef was away for a family obligation this weekend, we put out some homemade scones and fresh fruit alongside our other complimentary offerings. We also recommended guests to try one of two great breakfast spots at the end of our driveway (Noonmark Diner and Old Mountain coffee, both are excellent). We understand however it was important to you. We will think about how we might approach this in the future. "

This property offers tranquility at the end of a day of travel. It is welcoming and homey with patchwork quilts on the beds yet a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. There is privacy if you want it as well as a huge front porch for chatting with guests or reading. I felt like I was at my cottage not a hotel. I highly, highly recommend this little gem of a hotel.

Gateway to great hiking
The new owners seem to be two fortyish couples. They are dedicated and eager to learn the ropes, The on-site manager, Dillon, is quite helpful and obliging. This is clearly an inn for hikers. No TVs in public spaces or in guest rooms. Several rooms are actually suites with sleeping porches. Some rooms are very small and prices range according to room size, access to bath and toilet, and other amenities. Overall, a fine place to stay in a glorious part of the world.

The home was quiet and incredibly clean. We loved the location. Would love to stay there again! The self check-in/check-out was great too! Our room was so cozy and the sleeping porch was so sweet!

I knew going in I would share a hallway bathroom. However, that bathroom only had a tub…no shower. In addition, someone left their towels in that tub so couldn’t even use it. Wound up sneaking down the hall to use the bathroom with a shower. On top of that, the bath tub bathroom was next to my room (porter) so anytime someone walked in or locked the door, it was disruptive. Rather it was the middle of the night or early morning. Additionally, the hallway door was also noisy, and is unnecessary to have. It merely exists to hold the room names n directions. My room didn’t have a table yet had a chair. The place is next door to a soccer field with kids yelling in the afternoon. The town fire alarm is near and extremely loud when off. They change the breakfast everyday so it is not consistent. I had to miss breakfast one morning due to my hike and that was the breakfast I would of preferred. For $160 a night I felt ripped off

This guest just didn't get it. There are two hall baths for all four rooms one has a tub the other has a tub/shower and most guests figure it out that they can use either bath No need to "sneak" into either bathroom. The hall way door is there for a reason - fire dept. regulation, (not just for directions). Rather surprising this guest could hear the hallway door since it is at the opposite end of the hall from the Porter Room (no one in 17 years has ever complained about the door or the kids or the "disruptive" noise from locking the bathroom door)Hallway . Yes, the school kids do use the soccer field during day light hours when most of our guests are out hiking. Yes the TOWN siren is loud because it is a volunteer fire dept. and you need to notify the volunteers (we don't control the volume here at the Inn). The siren is not near the Inn, it's two blocks away. Yes my wife varies the breakfast every day - most guests like the variety - check out the 5 star reviews that complement her on the home made breakfasts. Some people just want to complain.
