We had a wonderful stay at Morgorlwg Fila Villa and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kefalonia! The location is excellent—just a short drive from the airport, close to grocery stores, and near some of the island’s most beautiful beaches.The villa itself is set on stunning grounds with great facilities and a strong sense of security. Inside, it’s clean, comfortable, and very well-maintained. The views are absolutely gorgeous and made our time there even more special.The hosts were incredibly attentive and thoughtful, and the villa was well-equipped for families with young children—everything from a cot and bedding to a high chair, feeding gear, and bed rails was provided, which made our stay much easier.It’s also a great base for day trips around the island. We especially loved the nearby beach, which had clear water for swimming and snorkeling, plus a lovely taverna with a relaxed, local vibe—not overcrowded with tourists.Overall, a perfect place for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday!

Morgorlwg Fila

We (a family of 4 adults) had a great time staying in this is lovely villa, Its in a perfect location with beautiful views, just 5 mins walk from a lovely small sandy beach with plenty of great restaurants close by. The villa itself is immaculate and comfortable with a lovely outside garden area and pool for relaxing. We hope to return!

Week in Morgorlwg Fila

We spent a wonderful 2 weeks in Kefalonia, the first week in Sami and the second in Morgorlwg Fila. The owners provided tons of useful information before we arrived and were always available on email or phone if we needed anything. The property is clean and spacious, and the outside lends itself perfectly to relaxing days in the sun, with a brilliant relaxing area in the shade under the gazebo. We spent many days or Trapezaki beach (5 min drive), and Agios Thomas (2 min drive or 10 minute walk), both of which have brilliant beach bars which also sell great food. It's also only 15-20 minutes drive from Argostoli. Having the grounds for the kids to run around in was ideal, and the pool was clean (pool cleaner came 3 times, all while we were lying in) and the perfect way to cool down. We would recommend in addition to the above, Antisamos Beach, Enastron restaurant in Trapezaki and Mermaid restaurant in Sami (both did amazing food). We would highly recommend this property for it's location, spacious grounds, and having everything there to make it a home away from home.

Beautifully well kept villa and garden, and really helpful hosts who advised on car hire, plus tips on what to do. We stayed with our 3 grown up children plus partners, plenty of space for all - and the 20+ year olds loved the pool inflatables. Great location, peaceful but short distance to main sites to see and brief walk to quiet beach

Amazing villa

Beautiful villa, the pool was so inviting. Everything was perfect. A great spot to explore the nearby town of Argostoli and great scenic drives to Skala and Sami.

Family getaway

We enjoyed our vacation in Kefalonia last September with my family. The house is beautiful and location is secluded so very quiet. That said, some advice for future users of the villa: -Check the whole villa right upon arrival, and report ANY damage, even the most unsignificant ones since you will get charged at the owner’s discretion. -As mentioned by another user in a previous post, patronising notes left all over the place will remind you that you'll have to pay. It doesn't really help to create a sense of welcome. -The pool maintenance will be done without you necessarily being advised, and the technician entering the backyard without ringing the doorbell can be disturbing. -So does the indoor cleaning since no schedule will be transmitted to you, which is not very convenient when all guests are forced to be out of the property for the duration of the cleaning as per Greek law. This leads to a feeling of lack of privacy, pretty frustrating when you pay the price for a whole property to yourself. This feeling is aggravated by the presence of surveillance cameras, one clearly filming inside the property (this information wasn’t revealed to us and we discovered their presence upon arrival.) -You won’t have any control over the outdoor lighting, which turns off around 12:30AM. It is a shame, these shortcomings detract from the sense of hospitality usually associated with a trip to Greece, a country renowned for its great hospitality.

Lovely week in Kefalonia

We enjoyed our stay, but our experience of the villa was let down by the lack of access to the air conditioning, even though the unit was on the wall. We assume not providing the remote control to the AC was a cost saving measure by the owners. The patronising and slightly threatening notes left everywhere seemed to back this up. A shame as the villa was lovely and in a beautiful spot.

Beautiful, spacious villa

Everything you need from a villa and more. Photos do not do it justice. We had a lovely, relaxing holiday. Close proximity to beach and a beautiful cafe/bar with stunning views. Would highly recommend hire of a car to visit the island and also as the villa is not close to shops etc.

Lovely villa

We had a lovely stay at Morgorlwg Fila. It is a very comfortable villa in a good location, and the family enjoyed the pool, outdoor space and barbecue area. It is very handy for Argostoli and made a good base for exploring Kefalonia. We had a lovely meal at the nearby Enastron restaurant. I haven’t given 5 stars overall as there are signs up everywhere detailing all the ways money would be kept from the security deposit, from breaking the mosquito nets to sitting on the sofas with suncream on. We would of course have been happy to pay for any issues caused, and the information is adequately detailed in the welcome pack, but we did feel that the number and the general tone of the constant reminders around the property gave an unwelcoming feel and made it harder to feel relaxed. This could easily be addressed to give the property an overall nicer feel. Nevertheless, we had a lovely time and would recommend Morgorlwg Fila to others.

Family holiday

Well presented property with lovely outdoor space and far reaching views. Great pool, verandah, bbq and seating areas. Short drive to beautiful cove for swimming and lunch/ drinks overlooking the sea. Around a 20 min drive to Argostoli for strolling, shopping,eating etc. Excellent air con in the bedrooms. Very attentive hosts who were very welcoming and keen to make our stay as good as possible. We had a happy holiday here on this beautiful, quiet island.

Fantastic

Morgorlwg Fila is stunning and if anything, the photos don't do it justice even though they attracted us to the villa in the first place! The pool and outside area are amazing and you won't want to leave. Inside, everything you need is there with great attention to detail. Really well equipped. What a lovely place to stay

The villa was amazing, very large outside space, more than enough for our family. Lots of seating options, and we used them all. The villa is large and has all the facilities you need for a great stay, including brilliant aircon in each room and 3 bathrooms (no who is using it first arguments!). Had a few questions for the owners, who were super quick to respond, friendly and very helpful. The local beach and bar were astounding. A 5 min walk away, past the goats and straight down. We never saw a better beach, and we visited a few. Lots of great restaurants a short drive away and two big supermarkets 10 mins away. Everywhere is easy to drive to. We don’t normally return to the same place but this was very special and I’m sure we will be back. Thanks Sharon & Leigh.

Wonderful Venue for a Super Holiday

We have been going to various Greek islands for our holidays on and off for years - always staying in villas, and I can say that this is the nicest, best equipped villa we've ever stayed in. In particular the seating, lounging, eating outside area is brilliant and just what a family needs on a relaxing holiday. While the villa was great, what was also fantastic was Sharon and Leigh's communications and commitment to trying to ensure we had a great holiday. They had even organised a cake for our's sons celebration which we found in the fridge when we arrived! :) Great villa offered by lovely, helpful people - you will enjoy your time at Morgorlwg Fila!

Idyllic

Had a relaxing stay at this lovely villa, which has idyllic views overlooking the sea. The villa itself was immaculately clean and split over three levels with a bathroom/shower on each, The facilities were excellent with all you could wish for. The pool was cleaned twice during our week and the housecleaner also visited once We hired a car so that we could tour the island a little, we also used it on a few nights out to visit restaurants which were a little too far to walk, the top three that we found with the help of trip advisor were Olive Lounge (which has been relocated at the top of the hill next to the castle), Veramente Grill House & Taverna Cavo Liakas. The villas location is a 10 minute walk to St. Thomas Bay which has two tavernas a small beach & crystal clear waters which as we found were great for snorkelling. Communication was always very quick between Sharon & Leigh and ourselves All in all a I could not recommend this property any lower than 10/10

Absolutely Fabulous

We had a wonderful time everything was so organised for us we just relaxed and enjoyed it we would recommend this place of Sharon and Leigh to all families as they have facilities for everyone young and old with children also 10 minutes walk to the beach or just relax in their Gasibo and have a Barbecue etc . We will be going back this year also we really loved it thanks Sharon and Leigh for making our holiday special .

Beautiful villa in peaceful setting

We ve had an amazing time at this beautiful villa, peaceful surroundings and perfect location. We couldn’t ask for more the villa is in a perfect location, it has amazing views, is well equipped, spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated throughout.We spent many lazy days in the well maintained garden which is huge, plenty of space for 2 families to enjoy together. Beautiful villa on a beautiful island

We have stayed in many villas across Europe and enjoy our comforts and privacy. This villa has both in abundance! It is set in a lovely exclusive part of the island, ideally situated to explore the full south coast of the island. The grounds are huge and very private, set behind high walls and a lockable gate. The villa is immaculate and is fully equipped for every need. The views from the balcony are stunning, we had many cheeky glasses of the local vino, dreamily looking out to sea. The pool was cleaned at least 4 times while we were there and the villa cleaner was very thorough and helpful. Sharon answered any questions we had immediately. I recommend a small hire car to rent for your stay as the roads are a bit tight and a good insurance policy. We have used Pfenis car hire for the last 3 years, we find them no hassle especially when you use pennies instead of credit cards. Thank you Sharon and Leigh! we would recommend your beautiful villa to anyone.

Beautiful Villa in a Stunning Location

This villa is all about relaxing. It's in a beautiful setting with views of mountains and sea, and is very well equipped in terms of outdoor living. If you are looking for somewhere beautiful, peaceful and away from the crowds then this fits the bill. A car is a must as the nearest little shop is a considerable yomp. Once you have the car, Argostoli is only a short drive away so then you have the perfect balance.

Beautiful villa in perfect location

We had an amazing time at Morgorlwg Fila! Weather was fantastic, villa was immaculate with breathtaking views in tranquil setting,much needed to relax from our busy work life. Leigh and Sharon made our holiday perfect in every detail. We couldn’t have asked for anything more and wish we could have stayed longer, we ll definitely be returning in the near future. Scam

We were a party of six and we had a great time. Then a week after we had got home we were told we had left damage at the Villa and that part of our deposit would not be refunded. This has put a black cloud over the holiday now as all was fine when we left the Villa. - We were told that water was coming out of the walls in the basement which had resulted in mould covering the wall etc. (all this was in a three day period/from when the cleaner came on the tuesday and us leaving on the saturday morning) We tried to say that surely a leak would cause this kind of damage but the owners were not listening to us. We tried to phone direct to talk about this problem but they would only communicate via email. Our problem is we feel this is a scam as when we rented the villa we were told it was at a reduced rate, so we feel to make up some money they are keeping some of the deposit for repairs which were not our fault. We have seen no photo's of this damage nothing just email's. If we had done damage to the Villa we would have repaired and paid for it ourself's not just left it! So as you can see we are so dissapointed to be accused of damage we know we are not responsible for. So to anyone looking to rent this Villa make sure you meet someone when you are departing the Villa so it can be checked and you don't get accused of damage and your deposit not being paid back!! At the end of the day it is not rocket science that if you have got water coming out the wall's in a basement then a leak must have happened above!

Amazing, well equipped villa

We had an amazing holiday staying here. Sharon and Leigh were very helpful with everything in the run up to our holiday and also during our stay, including providing detailed directions from the airport which made our arrival much less stressful. We travelled with 6 adults and 2 toddlers and there was so much baby equipment provided, it made our stay very relaxing (cots, highchairs, baby monitor, plastic plates, bowls, cups, cutlery, even bibs!). The villa is lovely, furnished to a very high standard and every detail is thought about. We loved the cushioned outdoor seating area for relaxing in the shade. Barbecue area was fantastic for cooking in the evenings. Also great having swings and trampoline for the children as well as lots of games and inflatable toys (adults enjoyed these too!). Location was good although we did find we had to drive everywhere as we were nervous of pushing the pram along the narrow single track lane but for others it is walking distance to the beach and some other places but we were happy to drive. The only negative for us was trying to stop our toddlers falling down the numerous stairs or into the pool but I imagine that would be the same anywhere else so isn't a reflection on this villa (but perhaps worth considering if you have small children), we look forward to returning sometime in the next few years!
