In the end...and from the beginning...great spot.

Stayed here for couple nights on a family trip to Maui after Kauai. Place was clean, fully furnished for staying in and going out. Had initial AC issue but was resolved quickly and Lorinda/Steve were gracious hosts. Will definitely stay again in the future.

great property for family or girls trip

Nicely appointed kitchen, all the beach toys, chairs, umbrellas and coolers. The property was clean and well equipped. It would have been nice to have a kitchen table to use for games and dining in. This was my 4th stay at this property but different units, the location of this unit is desirable.

Perfect condo for a family

We had a great time staying at this condo with our toddler and baby in January 2020. The location is awesome, we love being just across the street from K3 beach. This condo has a large lanai (some are small at Kam Sands) and lots of space inside for a family. AC worked really well and easier to have central AC than individual room units. There’s a good view of the ocean from the lanai so we were able to watch sunsets and whales breaching in the evening. Kitchen is well-stocked and rooms are comfortable. Only downsides were that bathrooms need a bit of an update and futon is better suited for a kid sleeping on it than an adult. All around a great condo to stay at and we’ve seen a few!

Great Location!

Location was great. Could use some info on how to run the lights and A/C. Took a while to figure out the remotes. Great Great Location. Slept 4 adults well. Futon could hold another person.

Aging Property

We stayed at Kamaole Sands many years ago. What’s apparent is that the property, while being maintained is aging and a questionable value at nearly $4000/week. AC noisy and shuts off after running 4 hours. The washer smelled badly and both the washer and dryer had problems. Unit lacks the illustrated dining table. It’s ok, but there are probably better values out there.

Central location but dated and in need of repair

Upon arrival check in was easy. At the unit the air conditioning was not on so it was 80 degrees inside. The showers are original with intermittent water pressure and the downstairs shower just stopped working on the second day. The pool area is where fun goes to die.

Great location and property

We loved our stay. Couldn’t imagine a better location for our family. Beach across the street was awesome. Surfing beach (for beginners—which we are) was just up the street abt 1 mile, and just south of the property are more beautiful beaches—real “gems”. We swam, surfed, and body boarded with turtles, without even trying. My husband could sit on balcony and see the ocean while he worked (which I know he appreciated). Missing a star because the carpets really need replaced in bedrooms, and the rug under the futon need to b thrown away. Otherwise it was awesome. (And word of warning: the master is a legitimate open loft...which is fine if u have young kids sleeping in the 2nd bedroom and that’s it. If u have a teenager sleeping on the futon directly under ur loft...u may want to reconsider :).

Our first time in Maui!

We traveled with our two young children--2&4 years old. The location of this condo is perfect! You're central to the island and can travel anywhere with ease. Lots of shops and restaurants walking distance from the condo. The sun sets right over the water so every evening everyone comes out to congregate and watch it. Lorinda and Steve but together a binder with such care and thought for their guests. Everything we needed to know about everything was in there. That takes time and love for one's guests; we really appreciated that. We didn't pay for any excursions. Whale and turtle watching can be done in the early mornings on the beach. We rented a car and though everyone wanted to visit Haleakala Summit (the crater/volcano) for sunrise, we started going up around 9:30am on a clear morning and got to the summit around 11am. It was not freezing since it wasn't that early and was still unbelievably gorgeous. The road to Hana is a bit more harrowing--my husband handled it just fine--but my girls and I were all car sick from the turns. When it started to rain, I was very nervous on the way back down. There is SO SO much to see on the way to Hana with little kids. If you ever want to know more feel free to ask the owners my email and I'll be more than happy to tell you what works for little children. The beaches: are not Caribbean beaches. They are rougher, deeper, there is more of an incline, a steep drop, and though we traveled to many--Baby Beach, Napili, Red, Black, Kamaole, Big, etc--the waters are not calm enough for small children. But, the various color sands on these beaches are beautiful. Nearby food: delicious! 808 Deli was our personal fav (most delicious sandwiches ever)! And Maui Thai Bistro was the most delicious Thai food we have EVER had. 808 Bistro for breakfast was incredibly good--crab cake sandwich was to die for. Fred's wasn't good at all especially not for Mexican food (everything tasted stale). Da Kitchen was interesting for local food--nice and quick. 5 Palms, a fancier rest, was a truly terrible experience. Way too expensive for the service and the meals we ordered. Minor things: little necessities like salt, pepper, bags, ketchup leftover by other guests would have been nice. There was nothing and so buying big items seemed like such a waste when we had to dump it. I found someone to give it to since we were supposed to leave the condo clear. This was a WONDERFUL vacation. PERFECT. Thank you Lorinda and Steve!

Beautiful condo to call home

The owners were wonderful to communicate with. They called mid way through our stay to make sure everything was okay - even checked to see if the new picture they had hung looked okay. Their condo was as warm and inviting as they were. The Resort staff was also very friendly and answered any of our questions or concerns as quickly as possible. We would highly recommend this condo and resort if you are coming to Maui.

Awesome Location

This was a great condo, very spacious, and had all of the amenities - including beach chairs, cooler, and lots of beach towels. Great beach across the street, and good access to southern beaches, the highway, and lots of awesome restaurants. My only complaints were that the beds themselves were not the best, and the air conditioner would only go down to a max of 70 (which isn't cool enough for my comfort level). Thanks to Lorrinda and Steve for great accommodations and for extending us the courtesy of a late checkout.

Like Our Home in Maui

We felt at home during our recent stay at Kamaole Sands. The condo was very comfortable. Comfortably decorated and furnished. The only suggestion we would have would be that the included beach equipment, snorkel gear was pretty well worn and probably needs some updating but everything else was great.

Sweet Maui Escape

Steve and Lorinda have furnished their Kihei condo with all the essentials. The kitchen was a perfect set up for all our meals. The bedrooms are spacious and comfy. We had plenty of beach accessories including chairs, an umbrella, towels and an insulated food tote. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub in evenings after beach trips. The condo is located near a nice beach where we spotted turtles! There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. They have left a binder with a list of recommendations. They were gracious enough to call and check In with us during our stay. We loved our time there and will most definitely return !

Couldn't have been better!

This condo perfect from the moment we walked in the door! At one point, we had a question so shot a quick email. The phone rang less than five minutes later. The unit was beautiful, had a filled closet of pool/beach toys! The condo association was beautiful, perfectly sized, and a great location. We swam with sea turtles just across the street! There were paid snorkel tours coming to this beach!! We have already talked about going back here if we find our way back to Maui! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Stor lejlighed, lidt slidt men brugbar og perfekt beliggenhed lige over vejen til dejlig strand

Vi var 5 voksne afsted og havde en skøn uge på South Kihei Kamaole Sands. Lejligheden var i god rengjort stand, men en lille smule slidt. Sovesofa i stue var meget dårlig og aircon larmede en del. Ellers fin lejlighed med masser af strand udstyr og gode og rummelige værelser. Komplekset har masser af grille og en perfekt mulighed for at tale med andre feriegæster over en grill aften.

Family Vacation Maui 2016

What a WONDERFUL place to stay in Maui! In my eyes, the ONLY place! My sister and I vacationed with our children and grandchildren, and this condo is the one my son and his family stayed in. What a beautiful property! The central air conditioning felt SO good after a day out playing, and from beach towels to umbrellas and everything in between, absolutely everything needed, or wanted, for the beach was provided.....only thing we needed to take was our swimsuits! There was want for nothing at this beautiful place .... the kitchen had everything one could desire, right at their fingertips, .... as did the living room, bedrooms and bathrooms. The location is great! We walked everywhere --- right across the street to the beach (oh, how we loved the beach!), and just a few blocks down the street to the ice cream shop, souvenir shops, Maui Tacos, and the ABC Store --- we had a fabulous time! The owners remained in constant communication with me right from the day I inquired about Kamaole Sands 9-409. I was led effortlessly through the rental process, and Steve even CALLED my son during the week of our stay to see how things were going, and was there anything additional he could provide to make my son's vacation more enjoyable! How's THAT for kindness and caring for others?! What marvelous people Steve and Lorinda are! If, Lord willing, I ever get to visit Maui again, they will be the first people I contact! Thank you so much! May God richly bless your day!

Family get-a-way Maui style

This property was absolutely fantastic - location across from the beach, near shopping and restaurants - simply perfect. Amenities inside the condo were excellent and within the complex were great. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The concierge staff were very knowledgeable and helpful in booking excursions around the island. Highly recommend this property and hope to return again.

Perfect Family Getaway

We spent 10 days at the Komole Sands 9-409. This condo was very well located. Close walking to beaches, shops and restaurants. The condo itself is perfect for a family or group of people. Besides having central air, it also containes a fully stocked kitchen which we utilized several times, and a fully stocked closet full of beach amenities which we also greatly appreciated for our many beach visits! The large lanai is also perfect with a view. Overall we really enjoyed it all. The only thing we were a bit confused on was the check out procedures. It was simple to turn the keys into the office, but we were not sure exactly what cleaning or linen washing we were to do before checking out. I looked in the condo book but there was no mention of what we were responsible for. In the end we emptied all trash, ran the dishwasher, sweapt and vacuumed and emptied both the freezer and refrigerator. We would recommend this condo to families with younger kids and teenagers.

Perfect Family Vacation

This property was absolutely perfect for our family vacation. We have 3 children, ages 11, 9, & 6 and we felt very comfortable for our visit. The property is updated, clean and as great location to ocean/beach, shopping and eating. The owners have put together a great book that offers suggestions of places to eat and tips on how to save money with groceries and booking excursions (all things that are important when trying to plan for a family of 5)! The condo is equipped with gear to take to the beach including coolers, lawn chairs, sand toys and boogie boards. Highly recommend this property and plan to return! Thanks for sharing your beautiful property with us! The pool was filled with many families and our children made new friends every day! Very family friendly property.

Awesome rental!

An amazing condo to rent! There were four of us staying and there was so much room. The Decour of the condo was perfect for the island. I loved that we could eat at the condo as well as head down the street for a delicious meal! We could not have been more happy with our accommodations! It was so nice to come back each day after exploring the island or hanging out out at the beach. It truly was our tropical home! Hoping to stay again sometime soon in the near future!!

Beautiful condo, location

This was our first trip to Hawaii, and the condominium was large and very pleasant. Your every need (laundry, TVs, nearby elevator and trash disposal) made for a very pleasant week there. Steve was even nice enough to "check in" with us on our first day to make sure all was well. The location is just great. 30 minutes from the airport on the "southwest" – as in "sunnier" – side of the island, if offers plenty to do right across the street. The quiet beach offers sunbathing and snorkeling (with giant and gentle sea turtles!), and even (in winter) the occasional whale sighting right offshore. Along the road, there are restaurants, coffee shops, and a supermarket. Our condo also offered a great spot to launch our adventures, from the daylong "Road To Hana" (and back) trip to Mount Haleakala to the western beaches, nothing was too far away. While not a "resort" facility, the accommodations are very clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. If you are two couples sharing, this is a tremendous value. You will be happy, I'm sure. We were!

Great Property, Great Location!

We were a party of 6 (including 2 kids) and chose this unit to stay for 3 nights in December 2015. It was very spacious and was easily able to accommodate all 6 of us - we never felt cramped. It had all the right amenities. The location is absolutely fantastic - with access to the beach, nearby parks and a short driving distance to groceries. We would definitely stay here again!

Aloha, Just as we hoped for.

Another enjoyable stay at Kamaole Sands, this is our 4th time staying in this resort and haven't been disappointed yet. first time in this unit and it was just as we expected, the unit was clean and well supplied with beach toys and and comfortable. looking forward to another stay next year... You can't go wrong with staying in south Kihei it's the perfect spot. Thanks for the uses of your condo:) Mahalo!

Clean, spacious, beautiful condo.

We recently spent 2 weeks here and were more than happy with this condo. The condo has great amenities and we love the decor. It became like our own home for those 2 weeks and we made good use of the well stocked kitchen cooking our own meals there every day. Such a beautiful view of the sunset every night!!! It was so convenient to have just a short walk across the street to the beach and park area. If we come back to Maui we would stay at this condo again for sure. The owners have been great to deal with. Thank you again! Arlene & Family
