This house looked great in the online pictures, but wasn't so great in real life. For a group that's going to spend most of the time on the beach, it's probably okay. However, be forewarned that the property is not well maintained. Here are some of the problems we ran into while staying at this property:
1. We had to call the property manager (twice) because of a non-stop procession of ants in the kitchen. After two days, someone came and sprayed a chemical on the kitchen counters, which stopped the ants.
2. We found several large cockroaches on the ground floor. We're talking a good two inches in length. Yuck!
3. None of the glass doors and windows have been washed in some time. They all are covered with a film of salt and grime.
4. Molding around doors and in bedrooms is grubby. It needs to be cleared, or better, repainted.
5. The sliding doors on the side of the house on the second and third levels don't lock. They look like they're locked, but when tugged will spring open.
6. An L-shaped piece of trim at the very top of the main stairs is loose (adhesive failed). Walking over it loosens it, creating a potential fall hazard.
7. A number of light bulbs were out in the house including the one in the closet where the washer and dryer are located, which makes it extra fun to wash anything, and the car port.
8. The pool had a bunch of leaves in it when we arrived.
9. The rubber headrests in the hot tube are falling apart, which means when you rest your head against them, pieces of rubber fall into the water and swirl around you in the hot tube.
10. There were leaves and random garbage in the outdoor bar adjacent the pool.
11. There was mildew growing on plastic shower curtain in master bedroom.
12. The house has a volleyball court, but we could find no volleyball. We did, however, find other pool toys and balls in an outdoor closet, but rather than being organized on the shelves, they were tossed into the closet on the floor in such a way to prevent the door into the closet from being opened.
13. In the storage area next to the car port, there were broken pool chairs just siting there rusting.
14. Running the TV and DVD player in the great room was a frustrating game of trial-and-error. If there were directions about how to make the equipment work, they weren't anywhere near the TV and DVD player.
Anyway, that’s a list I could come up with just from memory. This property is clearly a rental. If the landlord does care about a renter’s experienc
