  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Nice Place

I loved the property. It's right on the beach. Has a pool and a hottub. If you've never been to Duck before, brace yourself for traffic. There is only one road you can use to get anywhere, and it will frequently get jammed up. And on days when people are checking in, it's a night mare.

Very well equipped beach house. Overall great experience and easy check in. Loved the clean pool and hot tub area, extra/outdoor showers and half bath. Plenty of coffee makers and mugs! :) Elderly will probs find it difficult to get to the beach everyday getting over the dune (a lot of stairs) but that would be par for most beach homes. The only "issue" we had was the odd acoustics.....except for voices and music, every other sound was amplified to the bedrooms below the main living space. A couple(very minor) concerns were immediately addressed when we checked in....thank you!
